🌶️ Pssst… the jalapeños are hiding.

Our brand new fresh jalapeño baskets have arrived, and they’re already loaded with impressive production. If you’ve been looking for them and can’t find them, that’s because they’re hanging out in the second greenhouse alongside our newest pepper varieties.

One small favour while you’re in there: please keep an eye out for a special resident. A lone strawberry basket has become home to a new mama bird and her two eggs. 🐦🥚🥚

We’d love it if everyone could give her a little extra space and help us keep her nesting spot peaceful while she raises her family.

Fresh peppers, baby birds, and greenhouse adventures — just another day at Decora. 🌱💕

To the incredible youth performers - you brought every emotion out over the two hours and we are incredibly proud supporters. Do the plants benefit from your amazing talent… ABSOLUTELY- they like nothing more than the music and love - that you, your family, friends and community brings to our space.

A special shoutout to Sofia Avril, who is one of our incredible Decora team members but also a YTYP alum and performer. She did an incredible job supporting set-up & coordinating on our end and then was stunning on stage as always. We’re so proud of you.

To the wonderful audience, we could hear your cheering and applause from outside while we unloaded nursery and restocked the greenhouse. We know it’s unusual to see a truck landing but we appreciate your indulgence and hope you enjoyed the sneak peek!

You left us tonight with tears of gratitude and inspiration. Thank you as always to the incomparable Angela Drainville who trusts us with her vision, and advocates tirelessly.

If you aren’t supporting Yukon Theatre for Young People yet, you need too. These are amazing young performers, who we trust with our space as they make it their own in set-up and tear-down. Incredibly kind, polite, hardworking and epically talented.

Finally, thank you to my team who hauled, and hauled and hauled a truck load of amazing stuff tonight. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

A wonderful customer came in and brought us two of her lovely big pots, got some news ones from us and told us her fav colours for this season - so we planted them up for her!

These are ready to roll home and we love the soft vibes they are giving. The "Martha Washington" or Royal Geraniums (featured in the centre of each) have been a seasonal favourite, and the cascade lobalia, verbena and petunias balance them out.

🚛 Final Spring Truck Loading Day!

We plan. We count. We measure pallets. We double-check. And triple-check, question the count and then dream about miscounting so count one more time!… and then the day comes where we just have to trust it all fits on the truck!

Today is our final spring load, and it’s a big one...with more stops than we’ve ever done:

1) First stop: topping up on soil, chicken manure & lawn fertilizers
2) Then off for lush tropical plants
3) Next: Flowers, hanging baskets, planters for our final round including SO many strawberry baskets and a one-time-only treat: jalapeño baskets (only in our 2nd greenhouse!)
4 & 5) Then TWO nurseries for perennials, shrubs & trees (yes… double flowering plum is coming!)
6) Finally, a must-stop at Cherry Hill Coffee for our amazing espresso beans, chai, and more to fully restock!

It’s a full day, a full truck, and a whole lot of excitement. Like sending yourself a crazy present in the mail, but the gifts for everyone else!

Everything arrives Friday, be warned we may pause yard access for safety!

But it will be out on Saturday!!! The weather is finally turning our way and hopefully stays through the weekend and weeks to come - goodness knows we have earned it this year!

We can’t wait to show you what’s coming in.

🥒 Veggie Special This Weekend 🥒

Cucumbers, squash, and zucchini are just $4 each this weekend!

A few labels have mysteriously gone missing along the way, so some plants are a bit of a mystery. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is it a cucumber? A zucchini? A squash?
You’ll find out soon enough, but it’ll be delicious!

Think of it as a little veggie surprise with every pot.

Perfect timing to get your greenhouse going as we get to the final full moon!!

This week’s most asked question right now?
“What’s new in the nursery?”

The answer is… LOTS!

Our champion stock from last year has been the highlight this week. Watching them wake up, bud and burst means they also survived this nonsense winter with us. Do we feel like proud parents? You bet!!! Made all that shovelling onto their bases worth it.

These are the tough ones that made it through a Yukon winter in pots and have already proven themselves. If you’re looking for plants with a track record, remember this is as close to a sure thing as it gets.

The exciting news is that our fresh nursery stock arrives on the truck Friday and will be ready for you on Saturday.
