BLISS UPDATE 💛
After 9 wonderful years in downtown Waterdown it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Bliss Kitchens first location. Our last day of business will be Saturday September 14th, 2024.
I opened this space when I was 25 years old, on a whim, with two women I hardly knew. I’d lived in Waterdown my entire life and it made sense to open a shop in my hometown, just up the road from my parents house. Cut to 9 years later and I am still here in this yellow kitchen I painted, very pregnant, and very proud of all that’s been accomplished since then. While I haven’t had business partners in quite some time I have had the incredible help of my family, wildly supportive friends, and a spouse I couldn’t be more madly in love with. I am so excited to have our baby and start our little family.
While I wish desperately that things had gone differently with the sale of the business (we had a wonderful couple ready to take over the brand and continue running Bliss Kitchen, however roadblocks that were out of our control stopped that sale) I know that I am ready to step away from the restaurant industry for a while and focus on my family and being a mom.
One small silver lining to the way these pieces fell, is that I still have all my intellectual property and can continue to make and sell the wonderful treats and eats everyone has grown fond of over the years. Though I do need a break; a break to just be human and have a baby, this won’t be the last of Bliss Kitchen. Following the closing of its doors, when the timing is right, I look forward to accepting special orders for custom cheezecakes, donuts, chia puddings, desserts, and so forth. I see farmers markets in our future, veggie fest events, and so forth! Having a party that requires dips and cookies? I’ll be your gal. Food will always be my passion. I will post updates to our social media pages as those plans develop post baby.
I hope to see you all as much as is possible over the next 9 days that we are still open. Come by for lunch, or place a special order for cakes + cookies - we are still accepting special orders at this time! Our sauces & desserts freeze very well for those wanting to stock up!
Thank you again Waterdown for all of your support over this decade of business. It was exactly what it needed to be. It has been an honour. I am so grateful I got to live and accomplish this childhood dream. I look forward to what the future holds.
