Thank you so much to the Wildrose and Brant Colonies for donating an abundance of fresh produce to our Food Bank! Being able to provide fresh veggies to people who are accessing hampers is the biggest blessing! Thank you! We wouldn't be able to keep up to the amount of hampers if it wasn't for the generosity of everyone. We are so grateful!

Thistle Auto Glass and Mechanical -Vulcan,AB so generously donated a coupon for $200 off of windshield to support our food bank donations. Every Albertan knows the value of a new windshield! We have drawn our winner and contacted them. Our winner is a consistent donor to our food bank and their support is continuously felt by the county members who use our food bank services. We are so grateful to have community members who help us ensure that all have the dignity of being fed. Thank you again to our winner and to Thistle Auto Glass and Mechanical -Vulcan,AB!

Just a reminder that you have until the end of July to make a $20 or over donation to be entered into the draw for this coupon off a windshield! The draw will be August4th. We so appreciate everyone who chooses to make a kind gift to the foodbank, and to our small businesses for being willing to help reward sharing the responsibility of food security in our community!

We would like to thank Thistle Auto Glass and Mechanical -Vulcan,AB for helping us reach our funding goals for the Vulcan food bank. The needs our food bank are currently managing are not sustainable unless community members help fight for us. We are experiencing many new individuals as well as increasing number of hampers required. We would be so appreciative if you might use your windshield or glass repair to help benefit the food bank as well.
To Be Clear: Anyone who donates $20 or more to the Vulcan Food Bank by July 31th is entered in the draw to win this $200 gift card at Thistle Auto Glass and Mechanical to replace your windshield! Draw will be made August 4! Good luck and thank you for the support!!

We thank all of our donors so much and we would love to provide tax receipts where applicable.

Our Food Bank, along with many others, are facing unprecedented times. Food Hamper usage is higher than we've ever seen, and it continues to grow month by month as people struggle to make ends meet.
The good news is...we have an AMAZING community of supporters that have been very generous to us so we can continue to provide full, healthy hampers. This past Saturday's event brought in a whopping $1951.05 and 109 lbs of Food Bank Donations!
Thank you to Julie & Shaun Umscheid for hosting us and donating all their proceeds to the Food Bank! Thank you DD Speed Shop for encouraging "tins in a trunk" (food bank donations). They filled the trunk of their car! Thank you Dean Folk for donating a large amount of funds to our Food Bank. Thank you to the volunteers that sat at the table and walked up and down selling water for a donation. Thank you to Thistle Auto Glass and Mechanical -Vulcan,AB for donating a $200 voucher for a windshield replacement (donate $20 or more before the end of July to be entered to win!!) And thank you to the community for donating food and funds!
Please continue to advocate for supporting your local Food Banks! Stop by for a tour anytime. We are happy to show you our space and share what we are doing for the community! ❤️❤️❤️

This week's Pantry Meal Friday is a simpler take on a much loved classic. Flaky, buttery biscuits are always a hit, and a good way to feed a family with relatively common and inexpensive ingredients. Get creative with add ins! Bacon, ham, cheese, jalapeno, jam, sausage gravy, whatever you or your family loves. Enjoy these easy drop biscuits this weekend!

▢2 cups all-purpose flour
▢2½ teaspoons baking powder
▢1 teaspoon kosher salt
▢1 tablespoon sugar
▢⅓ cup butter grated
▢1 cup milk plus more ONLY as needed

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425°F. In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Grate the butter and dump it into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Use a fork to mix in the cold butter pieces until the mixture resembles a coarse meal with little pea size or smaller lumps throughout.
Gradually stir in milk – do not dump all the milk in at once! Add just enough milk until the dough pulls away from the side of the bowl. It should still look somewhat dry and be a bit sticky.
Scoop the dough with a large spoon or small measuring cup onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-14 minutes in the preheated oven, until the biscuits are golden brown.
