FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND SPECIALS
SAT JUNE 20TH - SUN JUNE 21ST, 8AM TO 3PM

1.) STEAK "OSCAR" BENNY.. Two grilled beef tenderloin medallions on potato pancakes, topped with a baby scallop and prawn mix and 2 poached FREE RUN eggs and our Bearnaise - tarragon flavoured hollandaise. Served with fresh fruit.

2.) HAWAIIAN "LOCO MOCO".. Relive the Hawaiian breakfast tradition! A mound of steamed rice topped with a 6oz ground beef patty, savoury gravy, topped with 2 over easy FREE RUN EGGS and chopped green onions.

3.) MAPLE BACON WAFFLE.. Our Belgium waffle infused with chopped candied bacon and maple syrup, topped with candied pecans and served with your choice of our cream cheese syrup or pancake syrup.

4.) TURKEY BURGER.. A house made turkey burger, grilled and topped with Jack cheese, served on a toasted kaiser with shredded lettuce, tomato, pickled onions, and Korean mayo. Served with home fries.

DESSERT SPECIALS:

MILE HIGH APPLE PIE.. You Gotta Eat Here absolutely loved it! Layers of tart Granny Smith apples tossed with sour cream, brown sugar and cinnamon and baked with a crunchy granola topping.

CARROT CAKE.. Moist, decadent 3 layer carrot cake with fresh carrots, pineapple, walnuts and coconut with a thin layer of cream cheese buttercream and sliced almond sides.

🎉Celebrating 40 years of John’s Place! Wow!🎉

I found a copy of our original menu from 1984, so starting this Monday October 21st until Friday Oct 25th, from 8am – 3pm, we have decided to run it back! Spoiler Alert: Bennies are $7, Belgian Waffles are $5 and coffee is a BUCK! The rest you’ll have to come down and see!

As I look back over our 40 year history at John’s Place, there are countless people behind the scenes who have helped us along the way. I’d like to mention a few:
My pal, Howie Siegel, who together with our first bank manager, Trudy Farrel put together the financing to get us started. Trudy, we are still waiting for Solomon’s receipts to be verified. My good friend, Bernie Keppler, who was there from the first day, running errands and doing all the bookkeeping.

The countless food reps that went out of their way to bring us product and establish a line of credit so we didn’t have to pay cash daily. Armando, Liborio and JP from North Douglas. Mike Grover and his dad from Alberta Beef. Norman and Colin from the Frie Guys. There are many more that this old mind forgets.

Thank you, Victoria, for all the loyalty over the years. Please come down and celebrate with us!
