Well everyone I’ve been dreading writing this post but it’s time. After a lot of discussion with my friend and partner Tom, we’ve decided not to run the truck this summer. Our contract with The Harbour Cats is cancelled again, we’re losing our parking/work space mid summer and there’s just too much uncertainty about everything. It all started when we lost all of our December catering gigs due to the health restrictions. To be honest, I’ve scraped by this winter and spring and financially can’t take a leap of faith again this summer. I’ve been offered a very lucrative job at a boutique, high end fishing lodge on the north island and plain and simply need to go where the guaranteed money is. It’s honestly been one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make in my life. I want to say how much I love cooking for you guys in the truck. I’ve done a lot in my career and it’s been the most rewarding by far. I’ll be back mid September and for now, we plan to run through mid November until our catering season kicks off. These words are literally hard to type but were sure it’s what’s best for us in the long run. I hope everyone has an amazing summer down the homestretch of this incredibly tough situation. Rest assured we WILL be back to fill your tummies before you know it. Thanks so much to all of our supporters. You know who you are.
