10 years ago on May the 4th we hired a super keen red headed baker. She quickly became an integral part of our team and business. Not only is she a phenomenal pastry chef we have had the pleasure to watch her grow as a manager and leader.

We are so thankful for Alyssa and all that she contributes to Ratio. We can’t imagine this place without you. Thanks for all the hard work and here is to many more years of delicious pastries and team work! 🥂

☕ 2–3 shifts per week

We have some really sad and hard news to share.

Our former Cafe manger Michaela and her partner Joel lost their precious baby boy this week. Due to some medical conditions beyond their control their baby lost his life and Mickey had to deliver him still born. His name was Perseus and he was loved deeply by Mickey and Joel, his whole family and by us here at Ratio. We were all so excited for Mickey and Joel and so excited to welcome baby Perseus.

There really aren’t words for a loss like this.
Right now, we simply want to surround them with love, care, and support as they walk through unimaginable grief.

If you see Mickey, please meet her with gentleness—whether that’s a hug, kind words, or simply quiet presence. 🤍

There is a GoFundMe to help support Mickey & Joel so they can take the time they need to grieve together without the pressure of work. If you’re able to give, it would mean so much.

Ratio has always been more than a café—it’s a community.

We say it often, but we truly couldn’t be prouder to work with companies like . For over ten years we’ve partnered with the whole Oglend family to bring some of the finest coffee in the world right here to Vernon.

One of the things that sets them apart is the relationships they’ve built with the farmers who grow our coffee. And this isn’t just marketing talk — it’s real, long-term investment in farms, families, and communities around the globe.

It means standing with producers through difficult growing seasons and political challenges. It means building trust year after year.

And honestly… that care shows up in the cup. ☕
