Continuing our coffee partner features, no stranger to the Vancouver luncheonette scene, , aka, Birds 🐦

Focusing on a no nonsense, everything made in house menu, they have built a cult following almost around a number of their menu items, having barely changed the much since day 1. Hearty mainstays like their miso barley bowl and of course the soft scramble breakfast sandwich on their own house ciabatta, with fresh OJ to pair 🤌

Having been a massive community hub since they opened their doors in 2015, Birds has hosted a multitude of perma pop-ups and pocket shops, collaborating with like minded cooks and makers. As of late, you will find in the evenings for your essential natural wine requirements, along with rotating chefs, and as a daytime plug, simply making nourishing beverages to give you life.

🔥 Hot? But how hot

📜 Cooler water can be beneficial to achieve specific extractions, but the most fool-proof approach? Water right off boil, 99% of the time will be at the perfect brewing temp of 195-205F by the time it hits your grinds.

🧱 The bonus of hot hot water? Coarser grind = minimizing fines.

But, this is the best one yet, not only is there parking but it is free from 9am-6pm, straight @ modus broadway 🤙

The first of our end of season cuppings at our Roastery location, free and open. As well for all industry folks, incl our partners, and anyone in hospitality for that matter, coffee or not.

On the table we'll have the full spread of current, limited lots, as the profiles change a number of times per year. Featuring hard hitting Mexico and Costa Rican lots, dry natural Myanmars, funky fresh high anaerobic Peruvians, and crispy nice high acid Colombians. Also maybe a sneak peak or two for what's coming up.

If you're showing up simply comment so we can prep the right amount of samples - If you've not cupped before, no worries, it's easy 🤙
