With the pandemic, Covid 19, this past year, has been difficult. Events have been canceled, gatherings limited, and my business as I knew it, has been halted. We are trying to adapt, pivot and change. Our new startup is a passion to bring simple gourmet products into your kitchen with spice blends, simple syrups, preserves and pantry items to make cooking at home easy. Check out our fabulous product line and curated culinary gift baskets for all occasions. If it's Springtime, Mother's Day, Father's Day, picnic, barbeque, camping, and long weekends. A few days in London to invigorate and inspire the soul, wear the soles and cram in some city living, modern, good ole rock and roll 🎸 and history lesson now off to Wales for another kind of vibe!

London’s West End the Theatre district… oh my.
There are over forty live shows playing on any given night.
We chose to see The Devil Wears Prada … unfortunately, missed Vanessa Williams by a couple weeks Her character Miranda, was taken over by Teri Hatcher who nails the performance and is wonderful to watch.
Stevie Doc is brilliantly defines Andi and is refreshing and charming. Oh, and the musical score is written by none other than than Sir Elton John.
The choreography and dancing are amazing.
Sets and costumes are rich, opulent and transform one into New York and Paris fashion worlds.
Bravo for live theatre.

Victoria and Albert Museum

The V&A’s mission is to champion design and creativity in all its forms. It’s primary mandate to advance cultural knowledge, and inspire makers, creators and innovators everywhere.
We were lucky enough to be here for the amazing exhibition of iconic designer Elsa Schiaparelli:

Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art
Her groundbreaking fashion spans the 1920s to present day influencing the styles of celebrities,socialites, including royalty, political figures, and design houses!

Every minute detail , button, boning. intricate stitching and design element reflect the pure art form of fashion at its finest.

TIME OUT… to eat! 🍴

Finally made it to the new Time Out Market at Oakridge Park — part food hall, part culinary world tour.

Time Out began in London as the little magazine that told you where to eat, drink and play. Today, their markets bring together a curated taste of each city — and Vancouver’s naturally comes with a strong Asian influence alongside flavours from around the world.

The food? Excellent. This is definitely not fast food — everything we tried was freshly made to order, beautifully prepared and served by people who, for the most part, were terrific. (We’ll give one rather cranky bartender a Time Out of her own. 😉)

My takeaway? I’m a little torn.

You’re essentially paying restaurant prices in a food hall. And while I loved trying it, at those prices I think I’d rather tuck myself into a tiny restaurant, settle in at a table and enjoy the whole experience that comes with it.

Still, there’s something fun about wandering from counter to counter and travelling from a spicy Thai salad to a fabulous paella without leaving Oakridge.

Throw in some Warhol, a little Louis Vuitton eye candy and a beautiful new space, and it certainly makes lunch an outing.

Worth experiencing? Absolutely. Would I trade my favourite little neighbourhood restaurant for it? Probably not.

Travel Tuesday ✈️📚

September always feels a little like back to school… even when you’re long past needing a new pencil case.

Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to libraries wherever I travel — old books, beautiful rooms, and stories waiting to be discovered.

And when class lets out? I’ll take my learning with a picnic, a bottle of w**e and somewhere beautiful to sit. 😉

Travel really is the best education.
