"My family used to run a small long-haul trucking business in Vietnam. When I was a kid, I spent my summer breaks traveling from North to South vietnam on a truck with my dad and his team. I slept in the cab, ate along the roadside, and was immersed in the raw scenery of Vietnam in the early 2000s. The food I discovered on those trips is the inspiration for this menu. I want it to be honest, simple, and represent the food from the small villages we passed through."

( black tiger prawns, pineapple & calamansi aioli, sister's secret sauce, shrimp cracker )

• Flying Popano - Cá Chim Nướng
( whole deboned Pompano, charcoal grilled, chẻo Thanh Hóa)

• Stir Fried Seafood Noodle - Mì Xào Hải Sản
( black tiger prawns, baby squid, tom yum sauce, napa cabbage )

Sneak peek to some of items coming on our lunch menu:

• Vietnamese style Grilled Hokkaido scallops with focaccia with salted egg sauce & cheese sauce.

• Charcoal grilled Fraser Valley pork tomahawk with rice.

• Whole chicken wings with our signature seasoning and lime vinegrette.

Lunch menu is our love letter to the childhood food that we grow up eating. Each plate of food is our way of paying homage to the generations who has fed us. Using local ingredients and prepared with love and tradition, just like how we would cook for our family and loved ones.

With a coastline streches from north to south, Vietnam is provided with an incredible variety of seafood. For this reason, it is impossible to represent the Viet cuisine without paying homage to the amazing flavours of our seafood dishes.

Inspired by viet fishermans's cooking techniques on the boat after every catch, our grilled octupus features: spanish octupus leg marinated with sate, charcoal grilled, thai chilli lime leaves aioli.

Fresh, tender, and full of flavour!

"My home in vietnam was only a few miles from the sea. After the war, like most young man in my village at the time, my grand father became a fisherman. Even until this day, he would tell me stories about his long journeys at sea, and his love for seafood is inspiring. From him, I learned that seafood is meant to be fresh and simple. When the product quality is great, the more you add, the more you take away."

"Given how competitive restaurant industry is at the moment, especially among new Vietnamese spots, we aim to make our own mark in the dining scene at .

This is the beggining of our most ambitious project yet. Long nights R&D, big learning curve. But somehow it feels like my whole journey has set me up for this point.

We are going back to basic. Cooking with live fire from wood and charcoal just like how our grandparents did in their days.

My goal is clear. To build one of the best traditional Vietnamese food menu in Vancouver and bring it to .

I can't wait to share with you what I'm working on. Who knows, this could be the beginning of something great! "

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 3 years since has opened our doors. This journey has been filled with unforgettable moments and we’ve been deeply touched by the love and support from our dear customers. As we learn to strive to serve the community better each day.

Looking back now, it has been incredible how far we’ve changed since opening oir doors. We take your feedback seriously and always try to look for ways to improve the dining experience. It was much more hard work for everyone in our team, but it was ultimately rewarding, as we were recognized by the Canadian Choice Award to be the best new Vietnamese Restaurant in Vancouver.

What’s next for us?

2024 and 2025 were definitely a challenging time. As a small independent restaurant, we were tremendously affected by the continuous rise of grocery prices. To put in context, many of our inventory item prices have now gone up anywhere from 50% to 100% compared to when we first opened in mid 2023. Meanwhile, there is an ongoing pressure to keep the price at the same level due to a downturn in our Canadian economy. Times are hard and we will have to adapt.

With that said, We will update you with our new visions and plans soon! Stay Tuned!

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible team. The passion, care, and magic they bring to work every single day is what makes this place so special.

Most of all, thank you to our community. Your love and support over the past three years have meant everything to us. Donna and Jennifer began this journey three years ago, navigating many challenges and sacrifices — including time away from their children and families — all to create a space where people could relax and enjoy modern yet authentic Vietnamese food.

Receiving this award is incredibly meaningful. It represents the hard work, perseverance, and heart poured into District Noodle House since day one.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way along the journey.
