Albertans vote today, October 19, on whether to remain in Canada or pursue a second referendum on separation. More than 1.3 million people voted early or by mail. Today’s vote will not itself take Alberta out of Confederation.

Speaking at a Wednesday rally in Bullhead City, Arizona, he said Canada would “end up being the 51st state, because that’s the only way it works.”
He also raised grievances about Canadian dairy tariffs and automotive manufacturing.
His remarks do not change Canada’s sovereignty, but they raise another question about how Ottawa should handle its relationship with Washington.
