Nautical knot keychains βοΈ Tied by my own salty hands π©΅ A little piece of maritime tradition you can carry with you.
Made from 100% recycled cotton rope, each one is tied using a classic monkey fist knot, traditionally used by sailors to weight the end of a heaving line to be thrown from ship to shore.
These little knots hold a lot of history for me. I first learned to tie monkey fists while sailing through the Caribbean almost a decade ago, and they became the very first thing I ever sold at a market and inspired my love of traditional sailor's knotwork. Scroll to the last slide to see the boat I learned to tie them on. β΅οΈπ©΅
Boats and sailing have been woven through so much of my life and have inspired so much of what Iβve made with my hands since then. Thereβs something really special about still making these all these years later. So much has changed; in my own life and in the little business Iβve built along the way, but somehow, Iβm still sitting here tying the same little knots.
Iβve made more of them than I could ever count... and bringing them back with sustainability in mind feels a little like coming full circle.
