Today, as I was coming along the causeway, there were so many people out of their vehicles, watching for icebergs

However along the railing two young ladies were walking on bridge one ahead of the other. One fell into the street off that little piece of concrete by the rail. Right onto the street

All was good. But only due to very attentive drivers. Could have been different story.

This is not a real safe way to photo that Berg. A couple of seconds today could have been different results.

I have to post this as it’s been on my mind for three weeks.

Early morning Sunday I left to drive back to St. John’s.

The roads were reasonably good until Gander. I knew weather was coming later but some areas had bit of build up.

From gander to clarenville I was down to one lane.

The speed limit is roughly 80 through the park and I was lead car In row of maybe 6/8 vehicles.

We all stayed in the passing lane as lane outside hadn’t been ploughed.

I could see in my mirror two transport trucks that made several attempts to pass us all in that unploughed lane. When they hit incline they relented.

Soon they seen their break.

Both straddled the yellow line and pushed every vehicle into this unploughed lane.

For prob 10 seconds nobody could even gauge where we were on the road. Wipers could not keep up.

As I was lead car I was down to 20 km when I came out of their onslaught of slush and ice.

Everyone behind me was the same. We were all thrown into this unploughed section of highway.

It was a green tanker and green transport truck.

As we settled back into the flow of traffic I watched those two trucks overpower another batch of vehicles doing their best to be safe.

When someone goes on the highway we always say “be safe. “

Many times it’s out of our control.

I know there are some great truck drivers out there … but those two … should not be on our highways.

We have heard of many trailer accidents these days …now I don’t have to ask why.

I have many highway miles under my belt but that jaunt is staying with me.

Happy Easter to all. !

It’s been a very challenging winter for so many. We do hope this round of weather is the last of that calibre for the year.

We will open around late April contingent on getting fresh seafood products.

All staff positions are filled. Our hours of business will be determined by the demand. We have no issue being open until 10 at night but the need just doesn’t seem to be there. We are there most nights much later cleaning up with lights on and open sign on but the drop ins are slim.

We have looked at putting in fryer system but the numbers just don’t work. With a good quality deep fryer and the new required fire suppression system it’s many tens of thousands to do. So there are lots of deep fried availability in the area so we decided to stick to what we do. It works for us.

We have fresh new look inside ! We are happy to do large groups and gear a menu for your preferences.

It will take up two months to get cleaned up outside ! Just like everyone else.

You will see new little sh*tzu with Bella on her walks. He can’t remember his New Brunswick puppy mill at all ! Loving the good life now.

Enjoy your Easter break. Have a wonderful weekend.
