There are no words to ease the shock and profound sadness we are all feeling right now in our small community. This tragedy has shaken us to our core, and it is difficult to process such senseless loss in the place we call home.

On behalf of myself and the entire hotel team, I want to offer our deepest condolences to those who are grieving. Our hearts are with you, and our gratitude goes out to the first responders who acted swiftly.

In the difficult days ahead, please remember to be kind to yourselves and to each other. We are here for our community and we will get through this by standing together.

With sincere sympathy,

Cassandra Trudel, General Manager

A good reminder with all this gorgeous weather we've been having!

🌡️ Warm spell in Tumbler Ridge this week!
With milder temps, winter conditions can change quickly — snow can get heavy and wet, trails can soften, and ice can become unpredictable.

If you’re heading out:
🧥 Dress in layers (and pack an extra warm/dry layer)
💧 Stay hydrated + bring snacks
🧠 Know the signs of cold injuries (frostbite & hypothermia)
⏱️ Pace yourself — avoid overexertion
🌦️ Check the forecast and avalanche conditions before you go
📍 Tell someone your plan and expected return time

Have fun out there and stay safe ❄️
And a reminder: Search and Rescue is a free service in BC.

Summer is coming!

Join us all summer long for a series of hands-on food foraging workshops in the stunning landscapes of the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark! 🌲 Learn how to safely identify, harvest, cook, and preserve seasonal wild foods from the land and forests around us.

Workshops will run periodically throughout the summer, following the natural rhythm of what’s ripe and ready—from wild greens to berries, mushrooms, and more.

🧭 IN THE MEANTIME - Download the SafeForageFoods app brought to you FREE brought to you by McLeod Lake Indian Band to help you identify safe-to-forage locations and stay informed - available on both iphone and android:
