🙌Thanks to everyone who came out for drinks on the deck yesterday in support of our Trinity and Area Volunteer Fire Dept. Fire Truck Fund. Your community spirit helped raise $260 for the truck and $135 for Jon’s Trinity Fort to Forge 5k/10k Gear Walk! It was great to have some of our local fire fighters join us (thanks for all you do!) and we even had a fire fighter from Ontario drop in! ❤️👨‍🚒🚒

WOW! Thank you to everyone who has helped Jon reach his pledge goal of $3000 for his Trinity Fort to Forge 5k/10k gear walk on Saturday Sept 26th! Jon has decided to up the anti and will race with the iconic firefighter’s axe for the first time ever if he can reach $4000 pledges. 🪓

🚒FUNDRAISER ALERT On Thursday September 24th instead of dinner service we are hosting drinks on the deck from 3pm-7pm to raise funds for Trinity’s new fire truck.

We will be donating $3 from every glass or wine, beer and cocktail sold to the Trinity fire truck fund.

While tomorrow will only make a small dent in our community’s goal to raise over $150,000, we know that every effort that can be made to support our incredible department matters and will continue to find ways to support our department throughout the year!

Thank you to the local firefighters, the organizers of Ignite the Bight Concert and Trinity Fort to Forge 5k/10k for their incredible efforts so far in 2026 to raise money for our Trinity and Area Volunteer Fire Department. And thank you to the members of the department who keep us, our staff, visitors, neighbours and friends as well as our properties safe everyday. ❤️👨‍🚒🚒

This year we are proud platinum sponsors of Trinity’s Trinity Fort to Forge 5k/10k 5/10km race. No other event brings our community together quite like Fort to Forge and funds raised through race registration and pledges make a huge impact for our Trinity and Area Volunteer Fire Department and Fort Point Lions Club. Participants can register for the race until race day on September 26th. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Cove Cottage is available this weekend and just minutes from the start line. The race can be walked or run 5km or 10km and is open to all ages. All participants receive a Sweet Rock Ice Cream medal for competing!

Thank you to everyone who has already pledged their support. This year, Jon has set himself another challenge: to raise his highest amount ever for two organizations that do so much for our community, the Trinity and Area Volunteer Fire Department and the Fort Point Lions Club, by racing Fort to Forge in his fire gear.

Every pledge helps him get a little closer to that goal and gives him a little extra motivation to carry those 50 pounds all the way to the finish line and every time the pager sounds.

Photo: Walking 10km in 50 pounds of firefighting gear is no easy task. Neither is wearing that gear while responding to a fire or heading out on our local trails for a medical call when a hiker is in distress.

Jon finds some creative ways to stay fit and ready for the task throughout the year, particularly during the months when the inn is closed. 🍂With fall officially around the corner, next week marks a change to our evening service hours at the Twine Loft in Trinity. We’ll be operating the dining room and rooms until October 17th and select self-catering vacation homes after the 17th. Congratulations to our fearless leader Tineke on her 2026 Circle of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award Nomination and to all the incredible individuals nominated for YMCA St. John's Circle of Distinction Awards this year.

Meet our next nominee for the Circle of Distinction Awards: Tineke Gow 🌟

✨ Tineke Gow (she/her) is the co-owner of the Artisan Inn and Twine Loft in Trinity. Her life reflects curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to step into unfamiliar territory.

Tineke immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in the 1960s and in 1969 helped advocate for women’s participation at the Canadian Henley rowing competition. She competed as part of the first all female crew at this event. In the 1970s she moved to Newfoundland and eventually opened the Artisan Inn and Twine Loft.

From her early years, Tineke has built community everywhere she’s lived. A devoted mother, lifelong learner, and champion of inclusion, she continues to inspire as a visionary entrepreneur celebrating 35 years in business.
