Haida House is the closest place to stay if the Pasuta Shipwreck is on your Haida Gwaii list—and once you’re here, you’ll understand why people make the pilgrimage.

From Haida House at Tllaal, it’s a short walk to the bridge to begin the route. The full trek to the shipwreck is about 1.5 hours at a brisk pace, or you can slow it right down and make a morning of it—watching for mushrooms and forest treasures along the way (it can easily become a 3-hour wander if you let the trail do what it does best). It’s a walk that suits most ages with steady footing and a sense of adventure.

One important local tip: watch the tides and timing—because if you leave it too late, you may find yourself wading the river on the return.
