Some of these kids are playing 4-7 rounds in a day. We have some kids that had never golfed and now are good at golf and played their way into the game. Today #1 Tee Box Reno begins. Thanks Atkinson Landscaping for doing the work and bringing all the equipment. They are also sponsoring the 1st hole as the support what we are doing for junior golf and brining a community course back to everyone.

Update time with Matt Palsenbarg | Golf Coach about the golf course. A huge pile of sand is a $2500 investment into the greens. We will be getting to work on the reconstruction of #1 tee on Monday thanks to Atkinson Landscaping doing the construction and also sponsoring the hole.

We have 9 tee boxes to rebuild. We have tee mats coming from my buddy Greg Pool at VGC for helping us out with that.

We want great tee and great greens. Both these steps are huge step for this goal. We need the sand to get the greens healthier and prepped for this heat we are getting in summers. Makes for smoother roll and better golfer experience. The tee boxes will be built as we find 16 more tee sponsors. The money raised goes to building the tee itself. This is the best way forward to keep the course affordable and improve it.

Thanks for all the golfers coming back this season. So many regulars and new golfers loving the vibes. Our $99 membership passing 250 kids was a huge step for us proving demand is there. Now let’s make it better. BackYard Golf Company LABsters Junior Golf Academy

A few projects we have been working on. The new Fairways Mower is lowering scores as chipping onto and around the greens is much more seamless. We are working on clearing more brush and trees so it’s easy to find balls and gain access to play it where maybe you shot not have hit it.

The greens are rolling smooth and we are monitoring the mower height and watering.

Next big project is on course signage and getting the tools we need to start rebuilding some tee boxes.

Our evenings and weekends are getting busy and really appreciate everyone that comes up and supports us. New golfers are welcome.

Crescent Heights Academy which is a short walk away have just wrapped up a 6 week program. Grade 12’s and 10’s learning to swing,putt,chip and get on the course to play. We had lots of fun and laughs. Golf is growing in popularity in the area and we are happy to have the facilities and coaches ready to introduce the game to 45 new players. We have another 120 coming in the next week from the school from grade 4-6. .golf

We have added a new piece to use to our maintenance crew. A fairway mower which will cut close around the greens and make for some better roll out for our new golfers.

It’s also a big piece as we want to move forward with getting some grass tees rebuilt. We are looking for community partners and business’ to be hole sponsors to help the process.

The season has started and we are really happy to show off the improvements we have been making. Our $99 Applewood Junior Membership is now over 125 juniors. We have Junior coaching programs and summer camps are live. We play lots of golf in our summer camps as we learn on and around the course and the .golf

We are really happy to welcome so many new golfers, families, seniors and juniors out to our little Par 3 golf course.

We are building this community golf course around families, kids and being a local place for everyone. We hope you can bring your Mom out for a round on us.

Feels like Spring and the Golf Course is ready for golfers. The course is coming out of Spring and we are still into our offseason rates.

We are booking small tournaments and corporate events this season and look forward to seeing more beginners from Surrey and Langley area. We are seeing us become a great hangout spot with friends. A low cost date night and a great way for a family to spend some quality time together.

We have our combo memberships that are good for the golf course and BackYard Golf Company

As always we have The Clayton Public House right here for before and after the round. Or between 9 holes.
