We Stand With the Families Affected by the Tragic Incident at Tsawwassen Mills
I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred this morning at Tsawwassen Mills, where four pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Two people have tragically lost their lives, while two others were injured and taken to hospital.
My heartfelt thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and with everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident. I also wish the injured a full and speedy recovery.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the police, firefighters, paramedics, healthcare professionals, and all first responders who responded quickly and compassionately during this extremely difficult situation.
According to Delta Police, preliminary information indicates that the driver may have experienced a medical emergency. Police have also confirmed that the incident was separate from the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation community walk taking place on Tsawwassen First Nation lands, and that there is no ongoing risk to public safety.
