It’s hard to even imaging that one year ago today we closed the doors for the last time to The Rustic Rooster. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss making that first pot of coffee, putting the cinnamon buns into bake and icing the lemon cranberry scones in time to open the doors to welcome our friends. I say friends instead of customers because I feel like everyone who walked through the front door became our friend. We has the pleasure of getting to know so many of you as well as you families. My favourite part of the day was coming out from the kitchen to visit with everyone and catching up. The best feeling for me was when I would look out from the sandwich window and see so many of you lined up to place your lunch order or laughing with a friend you loved to meet up with at The Rustic Rooster. These memories will forever be in my heart. I have cried many tears. It has been a difficult journey to let go. I know that I will always be truly grateful for being able to make my dream a reality even if it was for what seemed like a short 5 years. I am still trying to find my perfect job for my next journey but I am sure it will come. In the mean time I am going to write the cookbook I have so wanted to write. I hope that it will keep The Rustic Rooster alive in someway and possible help the healing process for me.
I also hope to have a new website up and running in time for the fall to take orders for baking mixes again. With Markets opening again, I might just see you at one with my treats and mixes. I will keep you posted.
Here are some of my favourite memories.
Take care💕
