Fall & Spooky season have arrived and so has THE SCREAM 😱 🧡

In 1893, Edvard Munch was walking at sunset when the sky suddenly turned blood red. Overcome by a wave of melancholy, he later described feeling an “infinite scream passing through nature.”

Fun fact: the figure in The Scream isn’t actually screaming.

Those hands pressed against its face are a reaction to the scream Munch imagined moving through the landscape around him; a moment of anxiety, nature and emotion collapsing into one of the most recognizable images in art history.

Obviously, we had to make it a cocktail.

Tequila, blood orange, fresh citrus and a silky egg-white finish create a vivid, almost unnervingly orange sour, but still strangely comforting and delicious.

In 2012 the painting sold at auction for $120 million USD. You can experience it at Matilda for $15 CDN 😉
