National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Today, I take a moment to reflect on the history of the land we call home here in Stouffville and the Indigenous communities who have lived on and cared for it for generations.

We remember the children who never returned home from residential schools, honour the Survivors and acknowledge the lasting impact on Indigenous families and communities.

As a member of this community, I believe reconciliation begins with listening, learning and understanding our shared history. It also means recognizing that we all have a role to play in building a future grounded in respect, compassion and meaningful action.

Today, and every day, we must remember that reconciliation is an ongoing journey, not just a single day of recognition.

🧡 We remember. We reflect. We move forward together.
