We’re almost through our supply of Amparo’s coffee for the year. A little late on announcing the release 😂. But this is year 5 that we’ve been featuring her coffee ☺️. And it’ll be the first of 3 women run farms that we’ll be featuring from the Narino region in Colombia.

This year Amparo’s coffee tastes like plums and oranges but with a nicely balanced acidity. Come and try it before it’s gone.

Isidro Rodriguez - La Paz, Honduras

We're coming to the end of our share of Isidro Rodriguez's coffee for the season. Come grab some before it runs out.

This was the first year we've purchased Don Isidro's coffee and we'll be bringing it back next season for sure.

His farm, El Monarca, is in the Comayagua Mountains, near the town of La Paz. For years he and his fellow parmers in the area put up with bare-subsistence farming, selling to "coyotes" who would pay s**t prices and bring dump trucks to pick up coffee cherries, part of a long chain of leechy middlemen. There were few opportunities to re-invest profits into farm improvements or even make a meaningful living, forcing many to sell their land and migrate to larger towns.

Our supplier, Semilla Coffee, has been offering farmers in this area three times the going rate for their coffee, giving them the opportunity to stay on their farms and work on improving their harvesting and processing practices.

This year, our first release from the project is from coffee producer Eduardo Donis Oliva.

His coffee is a new feature for us (you may remember the last couple years we’ve been featuring coffee from Israel Ramirez - who decided not to export this year.)
Eduardo shares his father’s farm with his siblings. We’re stoked to have his coffee this year and find notes like hazelnut, brown butter and orange blossom in the cup.

As always this coffee is an important part of our menu. For a decade the group of coffee producers has been actively resisting mining activities by a Canadian owned company. Please see the link in our bio to read more.
