We just had an amazing customer tell us they created an " Aloha Hawaiian theme gift " for their mom & mother in law for mothers day !! We loved the idea and wanted to share !!

SINCE Costco now carries our gift cards at an incredible price ( 2x $50 cards for $79.99) they picked up 2 gift cards .. one for each mom. Then paired it with this Aloha beach bag & grabbed a tropical plant from the garden center !!

All their shopping was done in one place and we are so honored to be apart of their moms special day ❤️ 💙

DID YOU KNOW? 💡🌺

Almost our ENTIRE menu is gluten-free!

Yes , even our famous fried Mochiko Chicken & Wings❗️

The only items that currently contain gluten are:
• Our Buns ( ask for lettuce wrap instead)
• Noodles
• Gravy
• & the crust on our Hula Pie

Our kitchen is celiac-friendly, and we take great care when preparing gluten-free dishes. If you are celiac, please let us know ahead of time so our team can do a full swap and deep clean of the prep area before making your meal.

Even small amounts of gluten from crumbs or shared surfaces can cause cross-contamination, which is why proper cleaning, separate utensils, and careful preparation are important when serving gluten-free meals.

We recognize how big the gluten-free community is, and how difficult it can be to find a restaurant where you can feel safe, included, and not limited by the menu.

🌺 We did it. And we’re honestly emotional writing this.😭🥺🙏

When Joel and I opened Aloha last year, we said something out loud that felt almost crazy at the time…
“Mark our words , we’re going for Best New Restaurant in Calgary.”

We set our sights on it from day one.
We worked for it.
We dreamed about it.

And in October, we quietly got the call…

We won.

Aloha Modern Kitchen has been named one of Calgary’s Best New Restaurants of 2026 by Avenue Magazine , in a city with so many incredible restaurant openings.

This has been the hardest secret we’ve ever had to keep.
We wanted to celebrate so badly… but instead, we took those months to keep pushing, keep improving, and keep growing in every way we could.

Now that the day has come where we can finally share it publicly, it feels overwhelming in the best possible way. This is emotional. This is validating. This is a dream we spoke out loud and refused to give up on.

To our staff, our family, our friends, and every guest who has walked through our doors YOU made this possible.
To the ones who believed in our vision before it existed… who knew we wouldn’t stop until we got there… thank you for standing beside us.

This past year has come with challenges and learning curves that could have broken anyone. But we kept going with a smile, a stubborn belief, and a dream that only we could fully see.

With this recognition comes responsibility.
And Calgary, we promise you this: we won’t disappoint.

We are incredibly honoured to share that Aloha Modern Kitchen will be participating in this year’s YYC Food Expo 🌺 .exp

To be invited to stand alongside some of the city’s most talented chefs and restaurants is something we’re truly grateful for and we’re excited to showcase what Aloha is all about. 🙏

For this special culinary event, we will be offering a 5-course gourmet tasting menu available March 13–29, from 4pm-9pm as part of 17 amazing days of dining experiences happening throughout Calgary.

Our menu blends island inspiration with elevated technique from sashimi-grade tuna poké to handmade noodles, miso-glazed catch of the day, flame-grilled Huli Huli chicken, and a pineapple cheesecake finale.🍍

We can’t wait to welcome you in for this experience.

Now that the whirlwind weekend is over, we finally have a moment to pause and reflect… and honestly, we’re still a little in awe. 💛

Friday, February 13th marked 1 year of Aloha Modern Kitchen, and what an incredible milestone it has been. This past year hasn’t always been easy, it came with challenges, lessons, and a lot of hard work but we faced every one of them head-on. Because of YOU, we kept growing, evolving, and pushing forward. 🙏

Our anniversary day was unforgettable, and Valentine’s Day turned out to be the biggest day we’ve had in our first year open. We are truly overwhelmed with gratitude and still a bit speechless at the love and support we felt all weekend long.

We could not have done this without our amazing guests, our community, our friends, our families, and every single person who has walked through our doors and believed in what we’re building here.

We’ve accomplished so much already… but trust us when we say this next year is going to be our biggest and best yet. We have some exciting announcements coming soon, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
