We are looking for a career-driven hospitality professional who thrives in a busy restaurant environment, enjoys leading and developing a team, and takes pride in creating an outstanding experience for every guest.
The Role
The Restaurant Manager works closely with the General Manager and our Front of House and Back of House teams to oversee daily restaurant operations. This is a hands-on and physically demanding leadership position that requires organization, strong communication, sound decision-making, and the ability to lead by example.
This role requires spending extended periods on your feet, moving throughout the restaurant, assisting the team during busy services, and performing physical tasks associated with the day-to-day operation of a high-volume restaurant.
During our peak season, the Walker House employs up to 90 team members, making strong leadership, organization, and communication essential.
Responsibilities
-Work closely with the General Manager to support daily restaurant operations, hiring, training, scheduling, events, opening and closing procedures, and team development.
-Lead, support, and motivate Front of House employees while promoting a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace.
-Maintain a strong presence on the restaurant floor and lead by example during service.
-Be prepared to work alongside the team and assist wherever needed during busy periods.
-Ensure an exceptional guest experience through attentive service, table maintenance, appropriate wait times, cleanliness, professionalism, and prompt resolution of guest concerns.
-Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members.
-Oversee scheduling and staffing levels based on business needs.
-Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving deliveries, and communication with vendors.
-Maintain and troubleshoot POS systems and other software required for daily restaurant operations.
-Work closely with the kitchen and Front of House teams to ensure strong communication and smooth service.
-Help develop and implement strategies to improve service, operational efficiency, and business growth.
-Maintain Walker House standards for cleanliness, organization, food and beverage service, and overall presentation.
-Support private events, large reservations, and special functions.
-Participate in and help coordinate community initiatives and local events. The Walker House takes great pride in our longstanding commitment to Saugeen Shores.
Assist the General Manager with identifying opportunities to improve restaurant performance and support continued year-over-year growth.

-Comfortable with the physical demands of restaurant management, including prolonged standing and walking, frequent movement throughout the restaurant, and assisting with operational tasks as required.
-Able and willing to remain active and engaged on the restaurant floor throughout busy shifts.
-Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
