If you’ve been into The Artisan’s Garden, chances are you already know Shelby, our coffee bar manager. She’s behind the bar most days, coming up with new drinks, keeping the baked goods stocked, and making sure the whole place feels good to be in.
Shelby’s never one to be in the spotlight, but we asked her a few questions about her love for our family-run business and the Sooke community. Here’s what she had to say:
Being part of a business my family built brings me so much pride. I love getting to connect with people who come through the door, hearing about their day, and sharing some of my favourite spots around Sooke with them.
If you were to ask me what my favourite drink to make is, it is whatever brings someone comfort and they can’t wait to come back for again and again.
If I needed to describe The Artisan’s Garden in three words, they would be peaceful, community, and inspiration.
And when I’m not here, my favourite thing to do in Sooke is heading out for an ocean swim somewhere along the coast.
