🌮 A Bittersweet Announcement from El Sombrero Taqueria 🌯

This isn’t an easy post to write, but after much reflection, conversation, and prayer, Eva and I have made the difficult decision to sell our food trailer—either as a standalone unit or including the El Sombrero Taqueria brand.

💛 A Business Built on Passion

In the last 2 years, this little food truck has been so much more than just a business. It’s been a labor of love, a dream come to life, and a way to share our passion for handcrafted Mexican food with this incredible community.

The overwhelming support, long lineups, and enthusiastic response we’ve received have meant the world to us. Seeing familiar faces at every event, hearing how much you love our tacos or breakfast burritos, and being part of your weddings, gatherings, and celebrations—it’s been an honor.

🔹 Why We’re Stepping Away

Simply put, life is shifting for us. Eva is doing well, but is dealing with some health challenges that would impede us from having a strong, profitable summer to fully commit to another full-speed season. Therefore, we felt it was the right moment to pass the torch to someone who can take the business to its next chapter.

Dear Burrito Lovers,

After much thought, we’ve made the tough decision to pause weekly production from the El Sombrero Taqueria food trailer for the winter season. Both Eva and I have taken on new roles this season, and balancing those commitments with regular production would be challenging.

That said, we’re still open to catering requests on a case-by-case basis—so feel free to reach out!

In the meantime, we’ve restocked Copperside Foods and Nature’s Pantry today, so you can still enjoy your favorites until they’re sold out. This will be the last week until spring. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to serving you again soon!

🌟 Thank You for an Amazing 2024! 🌟

As 2024 comes to a close, we, Jeff and Eva Harden, want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of you—our incredible community—for making this year one to remember. Through your support of El Sombrero Taqueria and Bulkley Valley Apple Fritters, we’ve been able to share our passion for great food with you.

This year, we had the privilege of serving:
🌯 Over 2,500 burritos
🌮 Over 9,300 tacos
🍎 Over 7,200 apple fritters

None of this would have been possible without each one of you stopping by for a bite, sharing a kind word, or spreading the word about what we do. Your enthusiasm fuels us, and we’re so thankful to be part of this amazing community.

We’ll be taking a few days off over Christmas to rest and recharge, but don’t worry—we’re gearing up to stock burritos again at Copperside Foods/Petro Canada and Nature’s Pantry soon after. And for one last hurrah in 2024, we’ll be set up at Bulkley Valley Wholesale this Saturday serving our beloved apple fritters!

From our family to yours, we wish you a warm, joyful holiday season and a fantastic start to the New Year. Here’s to more delicious moments in 2025!

We’re thrilled to bring our tacos, burritos, nachos, and more to you this season, but with some new changes to keep things fresh and sustainable. We’re adjusting our hours to reduce food waste and make sure we’re here when you need us most!

📅 Our usual hours: Most Fridays and Saturdays, and some Sundays on Spyce. Remember, we also have lots of catering events and Christmas markets this season, so we may not always be open.

We are so excited to announce that starting Saturday October 26th… will open for business on the Spyce Delivery App and at Spyce.ca We have chosen a large radius that reaches just into Telkwa as well! // Please be patient with us as we expand our menu and add some new and exciting things this winter. Our hope is to be open from 4:30-9pm with the possibility of even later on weekends.
