We just got our new sign! Unfortunately it’s the wrong size so the guy is going to make us a new one.

Hopefully tomorrow we will hear more from the Town about when we can do some updates to the front of the building.

👀Bio of new owners👀

We wanted to share a little information about ourselves as the new owners of Casablanca on Main.

We’re a husband and wife team. Local girl meets international chef.

My name is Meghan Hidber and I’ll be doing most of the posting on social media and the office stuff. I was born and raised in Smithers/Telkwa and I actually said my first full sentence when I was two years old at this very restaurant! I’m excited to keep the history of this place alive and cookin’.

My husband is Mohammed Amzil, most people know him as Mo here in town. He was born in Casablanca, Morocco, which is the inspiration behind the name of the restaurant. He’s the chef and the heart of the restaurant. Cooking is his passion and he’s excited to cook for everyone!

📣Takeover announcement📣

The rumours are true! As of March 25, 2026 we have purchased the Steakhouse on Main. We will be re-opening in April under a new name Casablanca on Main with a new menu of Moroccan and international cuisine. Our menu will be uploaded to our social media soon so be sure to check it out!

We also wanted to take a moment to thank Ami and Hanna for all their love and support. They have been a staple of this community for 10 years and we look forward to having them stay in town as our new landlords.
