You may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet on social media lately, but it’s all for good reasons! After closing our storefront at the end of August, we thought September would be a slower month to get everything organized, especially with our son starting JK (seriously, how did that happen so fast?!). But instead, we’ve been blown away by the incredible support and surge of catering orders from Haldimand and Norfolk! 💛

Alongside all of this, we’ve also been embracing more flexibility in our schedule to focus on family time, celebrating milestones like our son turning 4. We’re also excited to share a sneak peek of something exciting for the future—our new enclosed trailer is here, and we (and by we, I mean my incredibly handy husband) will be hard at work over the coming months getting it ready for catering events!

And to top it all off, we’re expecting a new addition to our family in the next month, which means we’ll be stepping back for a bit to focus on preparing for the baby. We still have a few events lined up for October and are already booking catering for the holiday season—so if you have an event in mind, we’d love to chat!

We’re restocking our signature salad dressings, but they’re going fast. Call ahead if you want to make sure you get yours! 🥗

This Friday, August 30th, will be our last day with the storefront open, so if you’re planning to place large orders for our baked goods, please do so as soon as possible! We’ve already received a high volume of orders, and our baked goods are perfect for freezing and enjoying later.

Starting today, we’re also offering our delicious Sesame Noodle Dressing and our Village Greek Dressing in-store. Don’t miss out on grabbing some before we close!

We’re thrilled to announce that our gas is back on, and Serafina Good Food will be reopening today at 10 am! 🎉 We’ll be here until 3 pm, serving up all your favourites.

It’s a busy day for us with several catering orders heading out, including our popular veggie wraps, which are always a hit. 🌯✨

Our small veggie wrap trays are perfect for any gathering! Each wrap is packed with fresh ingredients like spinach, carrot, tomato, black beans, corn, roasted sweet potato, and more—all wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla with our signature pesto mayo.

Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or planning your next event, we’d love to see you!

Yesterday, a gas line was hit, affecting many homes and businesses in Simcoe, including those in the downtown area like ours. We did our best to navigate the situation and keep things running as smoothly as possible. Unfortunately, we still have no gas this morning, which is essential for our restaurant's operations. As a result, most of our equipment isn’t working, and we have no hot water.

Because of this, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to close Serafina Good Food for the day. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and support during this time. We hope to be back up and running soon.

1. We Are Not Closing for Good:
While our storefront will close on August 30, we will continue to offer our catering services. We have always provided catering for various events throughout the week and most weekends, and this will remain unchanged.

2. Catering Services:
We remain dedicated to providing top-notch catering for all your events, whether they are intimate gatherings or large corporate functions. Please reach out to us for your catering needs—we’re here to help make your events memorable.

3. Reason for Closing the Storefront:
The decision to close our storefront is due to increased expenses and overhead costs, which have become unsustainable. By focusing exclusively on catering, we can continue to deliver high-quality services without the significant costs associated with maintaining a physical store.

4. Recipes:
We’re deeply touched by the love for our recipes. Although we won’t be sharing our recipes, you can still enjoy your favourite dishes through our catering services.

5. Equipment and Supplies:
To continue delivering the high-quality catering services you’ve come to expect, we will retain our equipment and supplies. Therefore, we are not selling these items at this time.

To our amazing community,

Since the day we took over Serafina Good Food in February 2022, our journey has been filled with warmth and support from both our incredible staff and our loyal customers. It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Friday, August 30, 2024, will be the last day our restaurant will be open for daily service.

This decision was not made lightly. The rising costs of food, overhead, and other expenses have made it unsustainable for us to continue operating as we have. We have always strived to keep our prices fair and affordable, but the current economic climate has made it impossible to do so without compromising the quality and integrity of our offerings. We know that everyone is feeling the pinch, and we deeply empathize with the challenges you’re facing in your daily lives.

Despite these difficulties, our passion for creating exceptional food with fresh ingredients remains unwavering. Over the past couple of years, we have discovered a deep love for catering—bringing people’s visions to life and making their special days even more memorable. Therefore, after August 30, Serafina Good Food will transition to operating solely as a catering service.

While we are still navigating this new path and have exciting plans for the future, we hope you will join us on this journey. If you have gift cards, we encourage you to use them now, but please know they will also be valid for catering services after August 30.

We are incredibly grateful for how warmly Simcoe welcomed us when we took over in early 2022. Guy and Susan, the previous owners who started this business in 2004, built an incredible legacy, and we hope to honour that and not let anyone down.

Small businesses are struggling right now, and we urge everyone to continue supporting local whenever possible.

Yesterday was a wrap-tastic day at Serafina Good Food! We made and delivered 18 large wrap trays for an event right here in Norfolk. That’s a whopping 324 wraps! 😲🥪

And that’s not even counting all the wraps we made for the restaurant!

Today is Friday, July 12, and it’s looking like it’s going to be a beautiful, sunny day. Perfect weather to swing by and grab a bite. We’re open from 10 am to 3 pm, so come taste the difference that fresh, quality ingredients make!
