EDITED FOR CLARITY: we are NOT closing. We are NOT going under. We are, as they say, “suffering from success”. We are dedicated to continuing at this pace, and remaining OPEN during this time period. Also, thank you all so much for the love!💕
When we started The Little Cheesecake Company back in 2010 we had no idea what it would become—only that we loved what we were creating and hoped people would enjoy it as much as we did.
For 16 years we’ve watched as your families have grown, and as kids became adults, who have now brought their own children to our window. We’ve shared in your celebrations, your traditions, and your milestones. We’ve laughed with you, cried with you, and prayed for you.
You are at the heart of it all, and your kindness and support over the years has been what keeps us going on those long nights!
Because of that, this is not an easy post to write.
After a lot of consideration and prayer, we have decided that it is time for us to begin the process of selling our business.
Simply put, we have been running at a pace that is no longer sustainable for us. When we started we knew we wanted to keep it small enough to be something we could do together, and if or when the time came that we could no longer maintain the pace, we would sell to someone ready to take it to the next level.
We are entrepreneurs, not employers.
In 2021 we built a new kitchen facility and quickly outgrew it. Every day since has been a sliding puzzle game of counter space. It’s an amazing “problem” to have, and we will be forever grateful to all of you for that!
Our hope is to find the right person (or people) to take what we’ve built and allow it to grow into what it truly has the potential to be.
There is so much more this business could do —with more hands on deck, more time, and more physical space.
We are deeply grateful to you for every order, every kind word, every lineup, and every familiar face.
You have given us more than we could have ever expected when we started this journey.
While this is a transition, it is not an ending. We will continue to be open each weekend, we will be back again this Friday with the same level of dedication and quality that we’ve prided ourselves on for over a decade. The only change you’ll see for now is a discontinuation of gift certificate sales (you’ll still be able to redeem them).
It’s the beginning of the next chapter—for us, and for Big Blue.
With love and gratitude,
Myles & Heather
