Well, we upset some of you last Rueben Thursday.
With everything we had going on we just couldn’t make it happen and we’re sorry about that.
To make it up to those we disappointed we’re making this Reuben Thursday one to remember!

Live music by a Beanie’s favourite, Scott Cleveland and if you’re early…. free cake for dessert! We said early because when the cake is gone, it’s gone!

See you soon!

And just like that, Sherbrooke Pride 2026 has come to a close.

What a weekend it was!

Over the past weekend we shared meals, stories, laughter, music, conversations, and a few happy tears. We welcomed familiar faces, met new friends, and watched people from across St. Mary’s, Guysborough County, and beyond come together in a way that reminds us why Pride matters.

Pride in Sherbrooke is about community. It’s about creating a space where people can show up exactly as they are and know they belong. It’s about neighbours supporting neighbours, learning from one another, and building a stronger, kinder community for everyone.

This year was our biggest lineup yet, and none of it would have been possible without our volunteers, sponsors, wellness partners, performers, presenters, businesses, allies, and every single person who attended an event, shared a post, or helped spread the word.

To those who travelled to join us, thank you. To those who attended their very first Pride event, thank you. To those who have supported Sherbrooke Pride from the beginning, thank you.

As we pack away the decorations for another year, remember that Pride doesn’t end when the weekend is over. The friendships, connections, and support we’ve built together continue all year long. The flags may still be flying, but the spirit of Pride lives on every day in the people who make this community what it is.

Most importantly, thank you for showing what is possible when a rural community chooses inclusion, kindness, and connection.

From all of us at Sherbrooke Pride, thank you for making 2026 a celebration to remember.

See you in 2027

Every June, we hear people ask, “What about our veterans?”

It’s a fair question. Veterans deserve our respect, remembrance, and gratitude. In Canada, we honour them every year during Veterans’ Week in November and on Remembrance Day.

What many people don’t realize is that 2SLGBTQ+ Canadians have always been part of our military history.

During the First and Second World Wars, thousands of Canadians who would today identify as le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, or q***r answered the call to serve. They fought in the trenches, sailed on naval vessels, flew combat missions, served as nurses, mechanics, code breakers, and support personnel. Like everyone else, they risked their lives for Canada.

The difference was that many had to keep a significant part of themselves hidden.

For much of the twentieth century, being openly gay could end a military career. Service members lived with the fear that a rumour, a letter, or a personal relationship could result in investigation, discharge, or public humiliation. Even after the World Wars ended, thousands of Canadians in the Armed Forces, RCMP, and federal public service were targeted during what became known as the LGBT Purge. Careers were lost and lives were changed forever.

One of the most notable Canadian veterans in this story is Michelle Douglas. An officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, she was dismissed because she was a le***an. Her landmark legal challenge helped bring an end to Canada’s ban on gay and le***an military service in 1992.

Others, including members of organizations such as Rainbow Veterans of Canada, have spent years ensuring these stories are not forgotten. Their service is part of Canada’s military history, too.

Pride is not about taking anything away from veterans.

It is about remembering all of them.

Including the ones who served their country while hiding who they were.

Where LGBT Purge Survivors & LGBT CAF Veterans are given the recognition, respect, and support they justly deserve for their service to Canada

The waffle bar will be ready to go with free waffles and sausages while they last!
Stick around for tie dying, touch a truck and side walk chalk art. We had some incredible artwork brightening our sidewalks last year!

See you Saturday!
