Is coffee your thing? Do you love the enticing nutty and chocolatey aromas of coffee brewing and the energizing boost you get from that first sip? There are some awesome Vancouver Island Roasters included on the Island Taste Trail that roast in small batches with the goal of crafting the perfect cup just for you, their neighbours, customers and friends.

Here are some of the epic roasters we think you should try. You'll find their coffee by the cup and by the bag!

Starting in , try Rhodos Coffee & Bistro. Dale and the team roast small batches of high quality, ethically sourced beans. In Comox? Try their second location, Hangar 31 Cafe in Comox.

Heading south on the Island Hwy a few minutes and you'll find Royston Roasting Co.. Proprietors Jesse and Gavin have 12 signature blends to choose from including a "Half-Caf" called Split Decision that gives you just a bit of the buzz!

Jeremy Perkins and his two locations of French Press Coffee Roasters in and is up next. Their award winning coffee is worth a "shot"! Last year, their Ethiopia Kilenso Moconissa blend won a gold medal at Golden Bean North America, the largest coffee roasting competition in the world.

Drive south to Shawnigan Lake and you'll find Carlos Arias at Compass Mexican Bistro. They have a micro-roastery that is worth a look and a sip!

With so many great roasters on the mid-Island, you're sure to find a roast that works for you! The small batch process plus being roasted locally delivers a beautiful fresh product that will warm your fall days.
