Yesterday we serve our annual Thanksgiving meal. We served over 150 guests, and we would like to thank all of volunteers, the lovely ladies from St. Gerard Majella, SSM and Ward 2 candidate Derek Pearce for helping to prepare, serve and clean up. We wish everyone who has supported us to make these these meals possible and Happy Safe Thanksgiving, your donates help us to create a place where people can find nourishment, connection and belonging not just at Thanksgiving, but all year long.

Thank you to Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club and The Soo Greyhounds Fan Club for hosting Hounds for Hungry tomorrow at GFL Memorial Gardens. Please bring your non-perishables food items, volunteers from St. Vincent Place Sault Ste. Marie and Soup Kitchen Community Centre will be stationed at each entrance to accepted your donations. You can also help the Soo Greyhounds help to fight hungry by purchasing a ticket from the Lajambe Financial 50/50 during the game or online at www.houndpower5050.com

Once again the Sault Blues Society is hosting Blues for Food, for THE 16TH ANNUAL time!! The dates are set for Friday Nov. 13th and Saturday Nov. 14th at Blaster Powerhouse (formerly Soo Blaster) from 7 to 10 pm. The House bands are The Jay Scali Band on Fri and Sunday and the Broken Hearts on Saturday. Poster and more details to follow very soon as the guest musician lists are completed by the House Bands.
Stay tuned, mark your calendars and be ready for this annual seasonal fundraiser by the Sault Blues Society .

Thank you to all of the participating restaurants and vendors, all of the great volunteers who helped to make Chili Fest an amazing success. We had over 250 people attend. Here is the list of the winners:

Today we had Glenn McLean stop in with donations that he collected as part of the Moose Lodges Pool League. Thank you to everyone who has donated, it will help us to continue to help of many.

Our food pantry that all of partner agencies use to take food to their clients is running low on pasta, pasta sauce, mac and cheese and toilet paper. Please share to help get the word out so that hopefully we can continue to help so many.

Save the date - September 19, 2026, Taste the Heat. Pick the Champion at the Soup Kitchen's Chili Cook-off at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion. Local Chef's will complete with their best recipes and you get to taste and vote for your favorite while raising awareness and funds for the Soup Kitchen Community Centre.

We would like to thank everyone who has donated to help us help others, without your support we could not do what we do. In July we served 2291 lunches and helped 598 families and individuals with our partnering agencies accessing food from our food pantry.
