Save the date - September 19, 2026, Taste the Heat. Pick the Champion at the Soup Kitchen's Chili Cook-off at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion. Local Chef's will complete with their best recipes and you get to taste and vote for your favorite while raising awareness and funds for the Soup Kitchen Community Centre.

We would like to thank everyone who has donated to help us help others, without your support we could not do what we do. In July we served 2291 lunches and helped 598 families and individuals with our partnering agencies accessing food from our food pantry.

Today we had a lovely family come in and help to serve our lunch along with Bill and Aaisha two of our regular kitchen volunteers. Thank you for helping us help so many.

Today we had Paul Gouge the Reaching Home Coordinator at the Sault Ste. Marie Indigenous Friendship Centre stop by with a very generous contribution that will help to ensure that are food pantry will continue to meet the needs of local agencies as they come for food for their clients. Thank you for your continued support.

Tomorrow we will be back out at all Pino's, Romes and Metro and Food Basic's locations from 9 -6 for the Can Hunger Food Drive accepting donations to help both St. Vincent Place Sault Ste. Marie and Soup Kitchen Community Centre to hopefully get us through the summer months. You can also drop off donations at Station Mall until Sunday thanks to Maitland Motors and the generous use of a truck. Pictured are Aaron and Sandra volunteers who are helping you accept your donations.

Help Us Can Hunger is happening today and tomorrow from 9:00 to 6:00 at all three Metro's, both Food Basic's, Pino's and Rome's
This food drive will hopefully help to fill the pantry's at both St. Vincent Place Sault Ste. Marie and the Soup Kitchen Community Centre for the summer months. Pictured are volunteers Clovis, Rak, Tarmo and Jessica. Thank you in advance if you can donate to this drive.

We've still got some empty volunteer slots for our grocery store collections happening Thursday and Friday! If you can help on one or both days, please reach out as soon as possible. You can contact St. Vincent Place or the Soup Kitchen Community Centre to sign up.

Kudos to Cravings by Paula Zaharukand her group of angels who delivered bagged lunches with all of the fixings for our guests today. Paula and her team(Paula & Michael Zaharuk, Nancy Peters, Vicki Aiudi, Doreen McGowen, Mary Kantovara, Diane Jobst, Sophia & Inaya Stone, Bev Prouse, Carole Stephen, Susan Hawke, Chantal & Sloane Zaharuk, Cathy Hussey, Jen Hussey, Jennifer Kotyk and Sarah, Poppy, Goldie, Arlo Lambert) delivery over 150 bagged lunches that our guests really enjoyed. Paula has been helping with this project since COVID and it is so very much appreciation.
