Taco House Co

Taco House Co Authentic Mexican taqueria and tortilleria. Delicious corn gluten free, vegan and Non GMO tortillas. Taco House Co.

It is owned and operated by a Mexican family that has adopted Canada as a home. We are a father and daughter duo with a dream of creating an authentic taqueria that will showcase tacos just as we miss them from back home in Mexico. Taco House is a modern restaurant that captures the flavours to make the best Mexican Tacos in Canada. About Aurora, the Daughter:
I was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico and came to Canada to reside in St Thomas in 2008; since then, I have adopted St Thomas as my home, where I have grown professionally and personally. My family and I have welcomed my parents to come to Canada and live closer to us in 2019. With my parents nearby, the dream of creating an authentic Mexican Taqueria has become a reality. My mom and dad have owned two taquerias in Mexico for over 20 years, and their expertise and passion for Mexican food have motivated us to continue making amazing Mexican food for the Canadian population. My love for Mexican food is the drive to pass along the cultural richness of my background to the community.

Meet the recipient of the St. Thomas Small Business Achievement Award!

Congratulations to Aurora Alcocer of Taco House Co., this year's recipient of the St. Thomas Small Business Achievement Award! 🌮🏆

When Aurora opened Taco House Co on Talbot Street in spring 2023, she planned to get it up and running for her parents, who ran taquerias in Mexico for more than 20 years. Instead, somewhere in that first year of long days and full houses, she realized she couldn't imagine doing anything else.

Her tortillas are made the traditional way, with corn, water and lime. For a while, that corn had to come from Mexico. Then a chance conversation with a heritage corn grower near Blenheim led to Mais Boreal, Aurora's own tortilla company. Today, 98 percent of what she serves is grown in this region, work that earned her recognition from Ontario's Ministry of Agriculture this year.

Aurora truly lives up to her name, lighting up our community at the Horton Farmers' Market, Downtown Development Board events and Salsa Nights at Railway City Brewing. People drive in from Sarnia and London for her tacos, but St. Thomas has always been home.

Sustained growth, local roots and a big vision for what's next. That's what this award is all about. Congratulations, Aurora! đź‘Ź
