It has come to our attention that our restaurant has been targeted for things we weren’t even aware of.
Someone had called our establishment yesterday, to inform us of what was going on with one of our staff members.
But unfortunately the staff working at that time, wasn't able to properly handle the situation, or to respond to a private site that had been slandering our restaurant.
Last night we found out that one of our employees hasn't been open with us, they failed to disclose that there’s a court order against them and is prohibited to work with anyone under the age of 16.
Upon the acquisition of this knowledge, we went to the police first thing this morning to figure it out first hand and we have chosen to terminate this employee effective immediately.
Henceforth we will be requiring a criminal record check as part of our hiring process to further prevent encounters like this in the future.
We have always taken priority in providing a safe and secure work place for all of our employees, customers and their families and we will continue too.
All of the staff at Island Girls Diner appologize for this awful situation.
