Happy National Banana Split Day!!

We're kind of a big deal in the world of Banana Splits (stay classy, St George) and if you've taken one on...you know why. The best soft ice cream anywhere, made in-house toppings* and all the other delicious accoutrements!

When she was still with us, Pete ruled the roost when it came to banana splits. If she was on-site, and someone ordered a split... you wanted to look out! She'd jump up, out of her chair, and swat you away if you DARED making one.

We're pretty sure she'd be pleased as punch to see how folks are STILL digging into those splits. And delivering her trademark laugh all the while. :D

Of course, Nelson Leeman (and Laurie Boudreau) know allll about our banana splits. This is Nelson's third year of banana split domination... will he beat last year's record? (Hint: Yes...yes he will!) If you missed it, Mary interviewed Nelson a couple years back... you can check it out on our Youtube page (we'll drop a link in the comments)

New, this year... have you tried Mocha Almond Fudge?

It's a base of coffee/chocolate ice cream, that great mocha flavour you know and love, a ripple of chocolate running through plus those chocolate almonds strewn in for good measure.

If coffee is your thing, and you miss hard-serve coffee, you should give this a try. It doesn't have a strong coffee flavour but it'll scratch the itch! :D

Despite a little rain, we ARE open for business today. (August 23rd)

If the drizzle you're looking for is a drizzle of chocolate sauce over a sundae or the only sprinkles you want in your life are on a cone of soft-vanilla ice cream... we've got the forecast you want!

If you didn't know, we've got a few options* for those who have dietary restrictions.

Does gluten give you issues and you need a crunch with your ice cream? We have gluten free cones available... just ask.

Also, most of our flavours are "gluten free." However, they are NOT guaranteed gluten-free from the factory due to how the ice creams are made.

We have a few flavours that are Lactose-free AND have No Sugar Added (not sugar free, but sweetened with artificial sweeteners).

Speaking of lactose-free, we can whip up a milkshake, for you, without lactose (most flavours). Mention it, when you order, and we can take care of you.

We can even do sundaes/banana splits in lactose-free versions. Stick with fruit toppings and you're good to go!

And, of course, there are freezies, slushies & sorbet*.

If there something here, we haven't covered or addressed... just ask our counterstaff. They're more than happy to answer your questions. :)

*All of these are subject to stock, distributor availability and/or freezer space. Not every flavour/option may be available at all times.

The St George & Area Food Bank, and the young people of Eastern Charlotte, need your help to have the best school year possible.

School supplies, like a lot of other stuff, have gotten more expensive making it even tougher for families to outfit their kids. It's nigh on impossible to learn and get a great education without a proper compliment of school supplies or on an empty stomach.

That's why we're asking, when you're out buying school supplies, to consider picking up one or two or more things off of their list (posted in the comments). If you're not doing school shopping, drop a cash donation in (or give it to our counterstaff to tuck safely away).

We also encourage you to visit the St George & Area Food Banks Facebook for other food items they may need. Or visit them in the lower-level of the Masonic Hall in St George.

As of now (opening, Aug 21), however, the box sits empty. Let's get the box filled, or at least something inside, so we can take a big donation to the food bank.

If each of us do a little, we can accomplish a lot.

There's three parts to the electric-blue Blue Raspberry dropping on your head. Normal speed, reversed then suuuper slo-mo at the end. You even get the audio for a little extra ASMRness :D

When it's a warm one, like today we could tell you about Slushies or Sundaes or Flurries or Milkshakes. All of those are well and good... tasty menu items, every one.

But, you just can't go wrong with a good ol' cone of soft ice cream. Vanilla, Chocolate or Swirl...cold, creamy, classic flavours that everyone loves.

If you're out, looking to beat the heat, why not drop on in for a cone of the absolute, very best, no-foolin soft ice cream east of the Pecos. Or at least in Eastern Canada :D

Howzabout something a little different?

Worms & Dirt, despite the name, is a nice treat if you're looking for a combination of textures.

Soft ice cream, is your base. Cold, creamy & smooth. Next up is some hot fudge. A dusting of Oreo cookie crumbs provide a sublte chocolatey crunch. Of course, you can't have Worms & Dirt without a couple of gummy worms on top.

Lots of flavours. Lots of textures. Lots of fun! :D

We need your help. Specifically the St George & Area Food Bank and the kids of Eastern Charlotte need your help.

It's that time of year when we're all out picking up school supplies but some families can't get everything they need for their kids.

We're asking, if you can, that you pick up a few extra items from this list for donation to the food bank. School can be hard enough and no child needs to extra burden of not having the tools they need to succeed.

If you can do the whole list...wonderful! But if not, every little bit will help and be put to use.

If you have school supplies to donate, you can being them to the shop and we'll be very happy to pass them along to the food bank.

Of course cash and food donations are needed/appreciated by the food bank (and us). Drop by their location (bottom floor of the Masonic Hall in St George) or visit their page for more info on what's most needed.

If we each do a little, we can accomplish a lot.
