Happy Sunday Everyone🍁

Here is a textile treasure that was designed and created in the quilting studio at Cherished Tapestries...an exquisite quilt with gorgeous hues of brown, green, terra cotta, burgundy and harvest gold.

The quilt top was first pieced together with various sizes and colours of hand cut fabric to make the design.
The batting was then added to the quilt top and free motion and straight line quilt stitching were used to enhance the details of the quilt.
The back fabric, which is a rich burgundy coloured fabric, was then added to the quilt top and batting and straight line quilt stitching was used to attach all three layers together.
The final step in the quilting journey was to bind the quilt with a lovely harvest gold patterned fabric.

Happy Sunday Everyone 🧡

Here is a textile treasure that was designed and created in the quilting studio at Cherished Tapestries...an autumn inspired cushion cover that would add visual warmth and coziness to any decor style.

The cushion top was first pieced together with various sizes of hand cut fabric "leaves" and a "tree trunk" to make the design.
Each fabric piece was appliquéd onto an ecru coloured fabric using a blanket stitch, that renders a classic country charm to the design.
An inside lining was sewn on the back of the cushion top to cover any "raw" sewn edges.
A zipper was added to the back fabric and all pieces were then sewn together to make the finished cushion.

Here is a textile treasure that was designed and created in the quilting studio at Cherished Tapestries...an uber cozy lap quilt, with gorgeous hues of red and white gingham fabric all married with a playful tan and white polka dot patterned fabric.

The quilt top was first pieced together with various sizes and colours of hand cut cotton fabric to make the design.
The batting was then added along with the back fabric, which is a soft cream colour, and free motion quilt stitching was used to give a free flowing look and feel to the linear pattern of the quilt top.
The final step in the quilting journey was to bind the entire quilt with a whimsical multi coloured fabric.

Here is the latest textile treasure that was designed and created in the quilting studio at Cherished Tapestries...an exquisite quilted table topper with gorgeous hues of crimson, orange, taupe and brown that are all reflective of the "soon to be" autumn harvest colour palette.

The quilt top was first pieced together with various sizes and colours of hand cut fabric to make the design.
The batting and back fabric were then added to the quilt top and straight line quilt stitching was used to give this tapestry a visual softness that accentuates the detail of the fabric pattern.
The final step in the quilting journey was to bind the entire quilt.

Happy Sunday Everyone 💙

Here is a textile treasure that was not created in the quilting studio at Cherished Tapestries but instead, at my beloved father's home sitting with him for countless hours as he watched me hand stitch and then would always ask me "hey Lee, how many stitches do you think you have done so far?"

This exquisite quilted tapestry was designed on one large piece of cotton fabric that is known as "whole cloth quilting".
All the colourful stitching on the quilt top was done by hand using embroidery floss.
Once the design was complete, the back fabric was added and hand quilting was used.
The final step on this incredible quilting journey was to sew on the blue binding.

I have dedicated this work of love to my father, and it is proudly displayed in my quilting studio💙

Here is a textile treasure that was designed and created in the quilting studio at Cherished Tapestries...an exquisite cushion cover using an heirloom petit point that was made more than 50 years ago!!!

The petit point was in an old frame in a closet and the customer wanted to showcase her mom's exceptional work.

The design for the cushion cover started with carefully removing the delicate petit point fabric from the picture frame and then stabilizing it with a cotton fabric.
The lavender and soft cream fabrics were chosen to highlight the hues in the flowers.

The batting was then added and free motion quilt stitching was used to give a flowing look and feel to the quilt top.
The back fabric, which is a fuchsia and teal patterned fabric, was then added to the quilt top and batting with straight line quilt stitching.
The final step in the quilting journey was to bind the quilt together.

Here is the latest textile treasure that was designed and created in the quilting studio at Cherished Tapestries...an exquisite memory cushion using a square of petit point that was hand stitched by a customer's mother.

The sumptuous crimson hues found in the 5" square of petit point, was the inspiration for the border as well as the ecru fabric that makes the design harmonious.

A zipper was sewn on the back of the cushion for the cushion insert.
