Look closely at Cranewood’s original silhouette. In 1888, Josiah Wood, Sackville’s first mayor, added the distinctive mansard roof and third storey to the building - a grand addition that would become part of Cranewood’s story for nearly 50 years.

After a fire in 1937 destroyed the mansard roof and third storey, Cranewood was left with the shape we know today. Nearly 90 years later, the building is still standing, still welcoming people through its doors, and still adding new chapters to its long Sackville story.
