Six years is a long time. Six years of getting up early (was hooted at by an own in the backyard this morning) Babes in arms when we started are now in school (Addie, Alden and Loïc) six years of standing beside some real legends and six years of you, dear customers who make it all worthwhile.

Not to be outdone by Pete, I also spotted a rainbow this evening. Looking forward to our dance class this evening, with Gordon leading us in Rueda de casino, at the curling club. Anyone can join! Come give it a try!

No mist, no mornings, just returning home from Memramcook last night on the scooter and caught this tiny rainbow floating in the clouds. I always feel like these are special reminders to us to keep looking up at the skies, and I always feel lucky when I get to see one.

The town put up some stickers on out window after a bird strike a few weeks ago. They are not intrusive, and the view here remains fantastic. I have a few minutes to write up my weekend adventures while I wait to pick up pastries.

It has been an interesting weekend here at Café Tintamarre. Saturday after the market, my baristas said shots were running very long. I adjusted grinder, ran test shots, scratched my head and looked at the grind- very closely. I smelled it, touched it and tasted it and knew exactly where the problem was- and looking into the hopper I found the culprit. Somebody( most likely me) poured in new beans and used the wrong ones- the dark beans we use for our filter coffee. HORROR! MAYHEM! OUTRAGE! well ok, maybe nobody noticed or said anything, Tintamarre clients are the most polite sweet folks I know, and the tourists probably thought it was just typical for a roadside café. No bad reviews were sent to Google, no smashed cups or faces punched. I was able to bring our calibration back to where it should have been and we served up a bunch of drinks, saw Jacob Puffer's great presentation on his art project in the park this summer and served a couple of bus loads of German tourists yesterday without issue.

Now I have been feeling humbled after visiting Leo and Ben last week and peeking behind the scenes at , they are doing such great work, and have created a cosy, inviting spot. It's nice to see that much heart going into that sweet old house. They've really made it their own. Also, really fun to geek out on coffee gear with someone who has the same compulsion, and share our experiences as entrepreneurs.

Then, yesterday, a faulty extension cord at home (I've been meaning to fix it, really) shorted out and fried TWO outlets that I had to replace (ugh) and THEN, when I got to the shop I was greeted with an entire container of chai that had leaked into the fridge.

So sometimes a disaster stops you in your place and gives you a chance to replace something broken that you've been neglecting, recalibrate and re-label something you've been doing automatically or redo something that failed (thanks Shanou, for making new chai this morning)

This might be a long monday. If you got a coffee that was sub-par on Saturday, let us know, we'll redo it for you.
