STORYTIME. Let's be honest here, because it's not all roses. The wait some days around here is just WAY too long. People tell us over & over they're waiting half an hour to an hour for an ice cream!
But we can only go as fast as this ice cream blending machine can go - it rattles, it jams, it needs scrape-downs and wash-outs, and peaches STILL keep getting stuck, taking us even longer to get you your cone. Oh, she has character, but we're quickly outgrowing her "charm".
Well, this little summer experiment has proven to us that you love ice cream, you love customizing whatever you want, and you love fresh fruit & weird herbs mixed up into creamy treats. And we love that this whole adventure is rescuing fruit from local trees, saving bears, and raising funds for our charity's community gardens, tool library, and subsidized food programs.
Win-win-win!
And so we took a leap.
We just welcomed (arguably) the world's best machine, and after using (arguably) the world's worst machine for the past 2 months, it's bliss. It takes seconds instead of minutes.
But there's a side story that's even cooler. After discovering one of these rare unicorn machines in Victoria for sale used, we reached out to Get A Move On movers to see if they do "backhauls" - bring things back home in the empty truck after a move. Turns out, not only do they do that, but they were going to be in Victoria the very next day!
24 hours later, after much juggling, and these amazing guys totally going out of their way to pick up this machine, they rolled back onto the Coast exhausted after midnight with this beauty in-hand. And after hearing what our little social enterprise is supporting, they didn't charge us a dime. 🥲🩷
Community is amazing!
So please, come fill up on real-fruit, hand-crafted, magical-unicorn ice cream to help us pay for this queen of a machine! You may still need to wait, but at least it won't be the machine's fault. :D
