With carrots, cilantro, and green onion from , Thai basil from Carrie's garden, and radish pods from mine, we are crafting a Seasonal pizza that is perfect for these sticky days - Thai basil-mango pesto, spiced pork, pickled radish pods and carrot, mozzarella, finished with peanut sauce and green onion.

A reminder that there are a bunch of fantastic workshops coming up this month, first from Ursula Kovacs of Saltblossom Botanicals.

Stepping into Ursula's home feels like simultaneously entering a forest, field of wildflowers, apothecary, kitchen, bazaar, and bo***ir. Hodge Podge pizza is back for a second week in the Seasonal seat! Roasted potatoes, carrots, beans and peas herbed with summer savory, and bacon. All on top of our delicious white sauce, topped with mozzarella and a garnish of green onion. Every veggie on this pizza is from the good folk .

Last week was our busiest weekend to date. 102 pizzas sold! Our great thanks to all who came up the hill for pizza. We're half way through our season and our hearts are already full of all the lovely interactions we've had with the you - the visits while you wait for your pizza, the laughter we've overheard, the kiddos toddling by the oven with pizza in hand, people picnicking on the swing under the oak tree. Thank you for all of it!

Wow! It's happening! I am thrilled to be teaming up with Ursula Kovacs ( Saltblossom Botanicals) and Dr. Julie Sutherland (Art & Humanity) to facilitate an August workshop series here at Hearth & Hive! Spanning tea making to art and poetry, these workshops offer opportunities for focus, calm, and creation. In the coming weeks I'll showcase each of these events and their facilitators. For now, a calendar and posters to get you planning how to slip away from the routines of your lives for a couple of hours.

East Coast comfort food? Definitely Hodge Podge. And we've pizzafied it! Roasted potatoes, herbed carrots, beans and peas, and bacon. All on top of our delicious white sauce, topped with mozzarella and a garnish of green onion. Every veggie on this pizza is from the good folk . Last year we heard from you about only having this pizza on the menu for one week, so it will also be next week's Seasonal. 😙 ~$35

Hello Friends,

Happy rainy Wednesday! This year has sure been an education in drought recovery. Even with somewhat consistent rain, the soil in my garden remains very dry and the water level in the pond recedes more quickly than in prior years. We only had one year of drought...makes me think a lot about what drought recovery looks like in places where they've gone through multi-year droughts, and also makes me very grateful for days like today. 💙
