I’m really excited for this series. We’re basically copying The New Yorker fiction podcast, in which authors join the host, chat about another author that they love and who has influenced their own work in some way, then they read a piece from that author.

Where our version differs is—in addition to reading a short piece from their chosen author—our guests will also read from their own work.

I’m hoping for a pretty casual atmosphere in which aspiring authors can feel comfortable asking these established authors some interesting questions, or just trying to learn as much as they can from the things that inspire some established writers.

I’ve already got guests lined up through the end of the year! Which is so exciting for me. I can’t wait for this series.
