Today he turned 85 years young, and we were delighted to celebrate him with a hug, a birthday tune and some apple crisp!

Our new friends from Vancouver wanted to see a square set tonight…so naturally, we got one going and pulled them onto the floor! When in Cape Breton! 😂

We’re hosting the Chestico Museum & Historical Society’s Reverse Raffle tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29! 🎟️

Raffle ticket holders are welcome after 5 PM. Lauchie Beaton and Dave Ellig will share a few tunes before the draw begins at 6 PM, and we’ll have a select menu available for purchase.

The evening is for raffle ticket holders, though we’ll keep a few tables available for travellers who need supper.

There are just 30 (or so) numbers left at $20 each, and the final ball drawn wins $1,000 cash! Contact the Chestico Museum to choose an available number. You do not need to be present to win!

We’re looking for friendly, dependable people to join our team in Port Hood. We have openings for staff aged 19+, as well as casual positions for applicants under 19.

Flexibility to work days, evenings and weekends is an asset. Starting wage is $17 per hour.
