I just finished writing my new book, The Silenced Self.
It is about the parts of ourselves we learn to silence in order to belong, survive, be loved, or simply get through.
This work grew out of years of sitting with people who look like they are functioning well on the outside, while carrying the quiet cost of having had to become someone more acceptable to others.
I’ll be presenting the book and the AIR model at the CCPA conference in Halifax, May 29–31.
Feeling grateful, a little overwhelmed, and very ready for the conversations this may open.

To all our loyal customers, Captain Hardy's / the Firechefs is no longer.

Covid-19 is unfortunately impacting our business to such a degree that we are no longer able to continue.....
I know that Noriko and I will both miss serving all of you and the community of Port Hardy, Port McNeill and Port Alice.
Joe Smith formerly known as Tazikers restaurant are very community-oriented and community-minded and will be taking over from here.
Please stay safe a continue enjoying the food at that location bye for now

The Firechefs will be closed this week as the chef back is still out of commission.

We will resume our current regular schedule ( Wednesday to Saturday) as of next week.

To the members of our community, the Firechefs will offer one free meal from 3:30 until 4:30 on the days that we are open to those who are struggling and are in need.

It is important to note that we must follow the BC government covid-19 rules and regulations concerning physical distancing ; therefore one person at a time will be served while the other person keeps their physical distance (6 feet a part)!
