The Flying Chicken Sammie

Patina’s Next Chapter
Today, we are proud to share an important milestone in the Patina Brewing Company story.
After years of building Patina as a craft brewery, Southern BBQ restaurant, local gathering place and community brand, Erin and Greg Moore are transitioning ownership of Patina to Sarah Harbord, the current Director of Operations.
This is not a goodbye to Patina’s past. It is a continuation of everything that has made Patina special.
Sarah has been with Patina since the beginning. She knows the business, the team, the regulars and the community. She has helped shape the guest experience, team culture and day-to-day operations, and she is ready to lead Patina into its next chapter.
For our guests, regulars, staff, suppliers and community partners, the message is simple:
Same Patina. Same BBQ. Same beer. Same community.
Erin and Greg will remain connected to Patina as supporters, mentors, regular customers and proud members of the Patina family.
Please join us in congratulating Sarah as she leads Patina into its next chapter.

We have some disappointing news.

Patina was prepared to invest significant time, money, and effort into hosting a street party in downtown Port Coquitlam. Our goal was simple: bring the community together, celebrate the world’s biggest sporting event, and create a fun, family-friendly gathering for local residents.

Unfortunately, FIFA has denied our application.

The reason? Patina Brewing operates in the same industry category as one of FIFA’s global sponsors. As a result, FIFA has advised that we cannot host or promote a public viewing event associated with the World Cup.

It is disappointing that a small, locally owned brewery and restaurant in Port Coquitlam is considered a conflict because of sponsorship agreements designed to protect the interests of a multinational beer company that generated approximately $59 billion USD in annual revenue last year.

We believe major sporting events should bring communities together and create opportunities for local businesses, not limit them.

While we won’t be able to host the street party we had envisioned, we will continue showing the matches inside Patina during our regular business hours and doing everything we can to create a great atmosphere for soccer fans.

Thank you to everyone who supported the idea and to the City of Port Coquitlam staff and our sponsors who worked with us as we explored the opportunity.

Patina has always believed that great beer, great food, and great people build strong communities. That won’t change.

We’ll keep finding ways to bring people together.
