Eats, Beats and Boutiques

The Cottage Petrolia Café

Please join us on Saturday, June 6th from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at The Cottage Petrolia Café for the Eats, Beats and Boutiques Day in Petrolia.

Our Sidewalk Sale (save the tax outdoors only) will consist of homemade chili, homemade baked goods, lemonade, soft drinks, juice boxes, chips, freezes and popsicles.

We will have giftware available outdoors consisting of Father’s Day and Graduation gifts, along with mugs, frames and plaques.
There will also be a variety of Fanciful Feeders for your Feathered Friends made from Upcycled Teacups.

All outdoor sales will be cash only.

Indoors you will be able to enjoy a specialty coffee, herbal steeped teas, smoothies, iced coffee, specialty cold and hot lattes.

Our menu will consist of Chicken and Rice Soup with a cheddar cheese scone, ham, turkey and egg sandwiches.

Homemade muffins along with a wider variety of baked goods will be available for you to enjoy.

Good morning, The Cottage Petrolia Cafe will be open today from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. We will be closing early to prepare for the Eats, Beats and Boutiques event tomorrow.

On Saturday we will be open from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Hope to see you at the event that everyone worked hard to provide for our community. Special thank you to everyone.

Start Date: March 2026
Position: Part time
Hours: Flexible Monday thru Saturday

About The Cottage: We are an artisan Café in the heart of downtown Petrolia across from The Victoria Playhouse. We pride ourselves in friendly, welcoming customer service. The café hours are 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Café, Restaurant experience an asset
Required Skills:
• Customer Service, Teamwork, Communication, Food Handling Experience, Time Management, Cash Handling
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide excellent, friendly, professional customer service and customer satisfaction, ensuring a positive experience
• Excellent team member, communicating with a cheerful outlook and willingness to learn
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffees, teas, speciality beverages, sandwiches, soups and desserts
• Process orders and transactions accurately, utilize a cash register
• Oversee cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling practices
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily work tasks with accuracy and speed
• Maintain a clean and organized café, including the dining space, utensils, equipment, counters, floors, washing of dishes, etc.
• Follow safe food handling procedures and guidelines
• Restocking supplies and merchandise, logging when inventory is low
• Follow policies and requirements of the organization and Lambton County Health Unit
• Ability to stand and walk while performing job responsibilities, lift items up to thirty pounds
• Perform other duties as required
