Domino's Pizza

In late August, Domino’s Pizza - Peterborough partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough to feed their youth participants and volunteers on the first day of Kids N Cops Camp. This yearly week-long day camp event is unique as it pairs vulnerable youth with local police and first responders as their camp counsellors.
These fun camp-based encounters benefit everyone! They allow the youth to see first responders as fellow human beings and for officers to have fun, informal interactions with the youth in the program.
This fact is significant that the majority of kids with Big Brothers Big Sisters have experienced a number of “adverse childhood experiences”.
Since 1964 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough has facilitated the matching of vulnerable youth and volunteer mentors/role models (More affectionally referred to as “littles & bigs”). This impressive history of big/little partnership has left a legacy of opportunity, growth and shared experiences.

When I went to school, backpacks weren’t a thing. (I know, I’m old!) These
days, every child seems to show up on their first day with one. They’ve
become an essential part of school life. I remember years ago, when my kids
were in elementary school, watching a brand-new Junior Kindergarten student
stride in with confidence, determination, and a backpack bigger than she was
strapped firmly to her back. I’m certain she had packed everything she
thought she might need for school because it was enormous!
I chuckled as she realized her shoes were too loose and bent over—backpack
still in place—to fix them. As she stood up, the weight and momentum of the
bag toppled her backward, landing her flat on her back. Unfazed, she popped
back up and ran inside, ready to learn.
In today’s economic climate, some families struggle to ensure their children
can head to school fully equipped. That’s where
https://www.linkedin.com/feed/ has stepped up in the Peterborough area. For
the past five years, they’ve partnered with https://www.linkedin.com/feed/
and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough to provide fully stocked
backpacks to children in need.
Today, Gauvreau shared this year’s plans and goals with the community,
looking for support to meet local needs. Domino’s Pizza – Peterborough is
proud to back this initiative again, partnering with community leader
https://www.linkedin.com/feed/, and his team to make a bigger impact. Local
businesses supporting the local community—that’s a top priority for Domino’s
Pizza.
Thanks to https://www.linkedin.com/feed/ for the invitation to today’s
event. Your energy and commitment to the community are inspiring.

Franchisee Werner Lomker is heading back to the global stage. 🍕🏆

“This competition is more than who can make the fastest pizza,” said Lomker. “It’s bigger than that and it’s bigger than me. It represents the passion behind what we do and the standard of excellence we hold ourselves to, even under pressure. When I am up there competing in front of the world, I am doing it for my teams in stores across Canada.”

Good luck, Werner! Your Domino's Pizza Canada family is cheering you on! 🇨🇦
