Thank you to everyone who keeps rolling into our wonderful town of Pemberton to visit this little artisan bakery. We see you in line, patiently waiting — and it does not go unnoticed.

We’re doing our best to keep up during peak season, but please know: we may sell out of your favourites. We choose quality over quantity, every time. Great things take time, and we believe it’s worth the wait.

Huge thank you for your support this past week — we had some record-breaking days, and we’re celebrating that with all of you. 🎉

Hey folks ! It's been awhile since we have been active here. To be honest it's been really nice to take a breather. We know you love us and we love you. I wanted to take a moment to thank my summer crew this year. They have been running the show with style and grace and we will truly miss them as they head by to school and off to new adventures.

But, summers not over yet for the rest of us so we look forward to the rest of these long summer nights and beautiful Pemberton mornings and maybe a few chocolate croissant 😜

To our Pemberton and Sea to Sky extended Blackbird family,

The last few days have asked a lot of all of us. When the wildfires came close, it felt like the whole community shifted into something quieter and more focused — one task at a time, one coffee at a time, one moment at a time. We made the choice to stay heads down and do whatever it took to keep our doors open for you, because being here, being a steady place in an unsteady time, felt like exactly what we should be doing.

And we did it. Our staff showed up with so much heart and resilience through all of this. Our equipment held strong right alongside them. We are so proud of this team.

But even the strongest need a breath. So this coming Monday and Tuesday, we’re going to close our doors — not because we have to, but because we want to come back to you rested, grounded, and full. We’ll be open again Wednesday, ready to welcome you the way we always love to.

To the firefighters, first responders, and everyone who worked tirelessly to keep our community safe over these past days — there really are no words big enough for what you’ve given us. You are heroes in every sense, and our gratitude runs deep.

I've never known how to disconnect from this place.

Not from my staff. Not from our customers. Not from the food.

And I don't think I ever will.

So when I find someone who carries that same heart — it means everything.

Paula at Pemberton Valley Coffee has been our main coffee roaster for nearly 17 years. She doesn't just roast coffee. She leads with passion, with care, with the kind of dedication that you can actually taste.

To every decaf lover who walks through our doors — she is the reason. 🤍

From the moment you walked through our doors in 2010 , you brought an energy and a warmth that our customers felt every single time. The way you welcomed people, remembered their orders, and made everyone feel at home — that is a rare and beautiful gift.

Névé, you have been so much more than a teammate. You have been a light in this little bakery, and the Blackbird will carry a piece of you always.

We are so grateful for every morning, every smile, and every moment of magic you brought to this space. Wishing you every wonderful thing in the world as you step into your next adventure.

☎️The Blackbird Phone Order Policy (AKA: Please Read This)

Listen, we love you. We really do. But busy season has us moving at the speed of a double-shot espresso and we need to lay down some ground rules. 🐦

The Deal:
During peak hours, the humans physically standing in front of us take priority. It’s just physics. We can only be in one place at a time (we’ve tried).

Sometimes the stars align, the line shifts, and we CAN take your phone order — lucky you! 🌟 Other times? We simply cannot. And yes, that answer might change day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute. Welcome to busy season, babes.

A gentle reminder on phone etiquette:
🚫 Hanging up on us mid-sentence is not it.
🚫 Shouting your order before we’ve finished speaking is also not it.
✅ Waiting for us to finish our sentence before launching into “yeah can I get a—” IS it.

We promise we are doing our best on our end. All we ask is a little grace on yours. 💛

Plan ahead. Be kind. We’ll meet you in the middle.

Our staff are real humans who are working incredibly hard to take care of everyone — and they deserve to be treated as such. Kindness goes a long way around here. Always.
