SUNDAY June 28th: THE BLUE WATER JAZZ COLLECTIVE QUINTET at Parkwood Restaurant! High Energy Modern Music with The Blue Water Jazz Collective!

Join us for a special quintet summer jazz performance that brings an exciting, modern high-energy approach to iconic jazz standards. Featured guests include acclaimed tenor saxophonist Jason Hunter, along with his nephew, rising young guitarist Thales Hunter, a 22-year-old emerging talent from Toronto’s vibrant jazz scene.

Guided by Steinhart’s re-imagined arrangements, the music blends modern and traditional iconic jazz standards with exciting new rhythmic approaches. The program moves from medium and up-tempo hard-driving swing through Latin grooves, high-energy funk, 12/8 slow blues, and Stu’s original hip-hop-inspired feature, Blue Stew. Virtuosic improvisation and deep musical interplay anchor Blue Water Jazz Collective’s inventive, contemporary sound.

The Band: Stu Steinhart – Bass & Arrangements, Robert Gasidlo – Piano & Organ, Stephen Wood – Drums, Jason Hunter – Tenor and Soprano Saxophones, Thales Hunter – Guitar.

TODAY SUNDAY June 7th: THE LAZY RIVER DRIFTERS (Matinee) at Parkwood Restaurant! Playing all your FAVOURITE HITS from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s! The Lazy River Drifters are a spirited traditional jazz band known for turning every performance into a lively trip back to the golden age of NEW ORLEANS MUSIC.

Blending bright trumpet lines, swinging clarinet melodies, steady banjo rhythms, and warm brass harmonies, the group captures the joyful energy of early jazz while adding its own relaxed personality. Their repertoire includes classic standards, blues tunes, and upbeat dance numbers that encourage audiences to clap, sing, and move along with the music. Featuring some of Grey-Bruce's finest musicians, including Ken Kelley, Don Buchanan, Paul Clifford, Gary Diggins, Jesse Corrigan and Doug Tielli. These musicians share a clear passion for preserving traditional jazz traditions while keeping the performances fresh and entertaining for modern listeners.

With their easygoing stage presence and infectious enthusiasm, The Lazy River Drifters continue to introduce new audiences to the charm, rhythm, and spontaneity that make traditional jazz enduringly popular today.

From the mid-broth western reaches of Ontario, Canada come a trio who set to work building an imaginative world through the mediums of progressive rock, storytelling and visual art. Rise Architect takes its inspiration from the classical world – the origin of progressive rock, playing very catchy, highly honed songs with movements that capture the feel of a noir comic novel..dark, gritty, mysterious and unabashedly daring.

With the pieces set, Rise Architect is poised to take the festival world by storm and bring audiences into their unique and imaginative world.
