Somehow it’s Friday again, which means a new episode of our series, Featured Friday! And today’s guest is none other than our cherished Kathy Harker-Fiander 🎨💛

One of the many things that makes Creative Stir Cafe unique and special is that we coexist within the magical The Niche Ottawa Gallery 💛 Led by our host and founder, Morgan, the two spaces blend in such seamless harmony, it really is a space that emits a sense of safety, calmness, and creativity in every respect. And when you visit, you’re not only surrounded by the artwork of countless local artists, but more often than not, a few of them are likely wandering about, having coffees at neighbouring tables. One such artist that might be familiar to you is our dear Kathy. Sunshine personified, you can feel her warmth by simply being in the same room as her or her artwork. We’re so lucky to get to experience her love and positivity every day, and grateful to her for sitting down with Morgan to give you a little insight into their story, Kathy’s incredible background as an animator (we guarantee you’re familiar with her work), and to discuss all things creation and inspiration! A little sweetness to start your weekend off right! And if you like this video, stay tuned for our new series in collaboration with The Niche Ottawa Gallery called “Tuesday Tours”! Creative Stir Cafe is growing our team!
We’re looking for more baristas to join us at Creative Stir Café.
Creative Stir Cafe is a busy, creative and community-focused café connected to The Niche Ottawa Gallery and Allegro Music Schools. It’s a space built around good coffee, art, music, creativity and, most importantly, the people who bring it all to life.
We’re looking for kind, dependable and enthusiastic people who enjoy working with others and take pride in making someone’s day a little brighter. People who are happy to connect with customers, support their teammates, learn new things and bring their own personality to the space.
Previous barista or café experience is an asset, but it isn’t everything. We’re happy to meet people who are excited to learn, care about doing a good job and want to be part of a team that works hard while still having fun together.
At Creative Stir, we care about creating a workplace where people feel supported, appreciated and encouraged to grow. We’re proud of the team and community fostered here, and we’re excited to welcome some new faces.

Abundance A’bunting!!

A little glimpse at the most magical evening we had here last Friday for our textile event!! We saw so many wonderful friends who came in to spend a night of community and creativity, crafting flags to contribute to the new collective art installation for the Niche! The room was so full of laughter and encouragement and love, and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined in and made the night what it was. Friends sipped espressos, lemonades, and cold brews, and enjoyed sweet and savoury treats while they stitched, drew, crocheted, and just generally got crafty as they poured individuality, meaning, and whimsy into each and every piece! You can see everyone’s unique and beautiful piece now strung together and now displayed here between the beams at the cafe and gallery! It’s made the space feel extra cozy, warm and full of love if you ask us, but you’ll just have to come in and see it for yourself to really feel it💛 And if you missed the event, you can still contribute! We have materials and supplies here at the cafe for the next time you’re in! Or feel free to bring your own! Stay a while and enjoy some time embracing your creativity and see your work displayed in our newest community installation! INTRODUCING: our new cold brew & cold foam!! At last! ☕️🧊

These have been brewing behind the scenes for quite a while, and we’re so excited to finally bring them to our menu!

For those who might not know, iced coffee is brewed hot and poured over ice, while cold brew is, well, brewed cold! And extra smooth and delicious, especially when topped with our new sweetened cold foam! 😉

There are still plenty of August afternoons ahead, and now we have the perfect cool, sweet treat to pair with them! And if you’ve been dreaming of these menu arrivals, or you simply like your caffeine cold, your time has come! Stop on by and check our what we’ve been brewing up today!☀️ 🌾🤎
