To our friends and customers in Ottawa/Gatineau, thank you for your many years of support for the long-established Japanese restaurant, Festival Japan! Every time I look back on the wonderful 20 years at FJ, what moves me the most is not just the food, but all of you 💗
Although we closed FJ at the end of last year, I am very happy to tell you that I have returned with the brand-new Rice-Mi at FJ's original location — 149 Kent street in Ottawa downtown! Rice-Mi is a new brand created in collaboration with a chef from China. This is my second Rice-Mi location, and we are dedicated to providing delicious and affordable lunches and dinners. Lunch prices range from $10-$15, and dinner single person combo set start from $22 (includes soup and rice).
Whether you are looking for a relaxed team lunch, want to host a warm birthday party, or just want a place to enjoy good food and music, our commitment remains: a warm, home-like atmosphere + affordable and tasty Asian home-style cooking. Subject: A Heartfelt Thank You and Farewell Announcement

Dear Valued Customers and Friends,

It is with a mix of profound gratitude and deep emotion that I write to you today. After nearly 20 wonderful years, Festival Japan Restaurant will be closing its doors permanently on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Since opening in 2006, it has been our greatest honor to serve you, share in your celebrations, and become a part of this community. Your support, loyalty, and shared love for authentic Japanese cuisine have been the heart of our restaurant. We cherish every memory created within these walls.

We want to assure you that we will continue to offer our full menu and service with the same dedication and passion until our final day. Our last day of service will be Saturday, December 20, 2025.

For those who have loved our authentic sushi and dishes over the years, we warmly invite you to visit us one more time. Let's share a final meal and create lasting memories together before we say goodbye.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for two incredible decades. You have made this journey unforgettable.
