Fall might be fast approaching, but there's still time to soak up the last little bit of sunshine, or get it in drink form.

Our Sunrise Mocktail is a great option for a relaxed night out with friends or so a fun beverage to enjoy with lunch. Bright, citrusy, creamy, and a little sweet.

Made with orange juice, cream, vanilla syrup, and angostura bitters this mocktail is reminiscent of peak patio season and an orange creamsicle from the ice cream truck.

One more week to get your tickets for an evening of selected readings from writer Isaman Cann. This night of readings centre on motherhood, coming out, and redemption. Her main purpose in writing is to offer hope and encourage love in the face of what can seem a pretty bleak world.

October 4th | Doors at 5:30 PM , Event at 6 PM

This evening is envisioned as an offering of medicine to that end: a gathering of friends old and new from literary circles around Ottawa and Eastern Ontario featuring short form readings from Cann's published and unpublished works. Readings will be interspersed with a couple of songs from friends, and the medicine of being together with loved ones new and old.

Isaman Cann is the pen name of one of the world’s tens of thousands of Michelle Jones’s. She currently walks and writes in the beautiful province of Quebec, Canada, where she tragically speaks very little French. Isaman writes in between a job and family that she loves, while trying madly to sidestep the hideous demons of non-essential duties masquerading as crisis. Isaman's work can be found in Star82review, Pinch Journal and upcoming in Broadview magazine.

On October 18th, come on out for a night of Indie/Alt/Folk with Kent - Sonic Waves and Kyla. Both artists will be performing original solo work in an intimate setting they call home.

About the Performers

Kent - Sonic Waves (Kent Leclair) is an Almonte based artist who delivers visual lyrics in a style somewhere between Bob Dylan and Lou Reed. Influences range from Big Thief, to Velvet Underground, to Sonic Youth. A debut album was released on June 14, 2026 titled "Lone Pine Lodge" produced at Ottawa's Little Bullhorn Studio's by Dave Draves and Kent - Sonic Waves is currently in the studio working on the follow up to that album.

Kyla is an Ottawa based musician who writes stories more than songs. Her Lyricism is as gentle as it is heartbreaking, making sure those who listen are taken on a journey. Inspired by artists like Adrianne Lenker, McGovern, and Julian Taylor, her songwriting breathes life into pain and beauty. Her music is sure to leave emotion lingering, even when her guitar is the only one speaking.

October 10th, Art House Welcomes The Bush League Batters

The Batters are an Ottawa-based multi-instrument band with a folk rock vibe. They do a core set of Neil Young and adjacent songs (WatchHouse, Great Lake Swimmers, etc) but the band is working on an album, so expect a strong tilt toward their original songs.

John Cormier - originally from Nova Scotia - has lived in Ottawa for years and plays guitar and sings in several bands including The King Makers, and The Big Train Wreck. Ottawa born Donna Chiarelli is the bass player and sings for The Big Train Wreck and the Batters. Chris DaSilva - formerly with Gentlemen of the Woods - plays guitar, banjo & harmonica and sings in the band. Ben Chi grew up in Chelsea Quebec and now studies drumming and percussion at Humber College in Toronto. and is currently playing around the national capital region with his own jazz band, the Ben Chi Quintet.
